The campaign trail got a bit more crowded on Thursday, as P. Diddy threw himself into the fray, meeting with presidential hopeful John Kerry and later talking with young Republicans in an effort to place young people and their problems front and center in the race for the White House.
Diddy has made a great deal of noise about his interest in making sure that urban issues are addressed in this year's election, and now he's taking those issues directly to Democrats and Republicans. The
hip-hop mogul began by meeting Thursday with candidate Kerry at the NAACP convention in Philadelphia, where Kerry had addressed the organization earlier in the day. The two met privately, but Diddy has publicly made it clear that he's concerned about issues involving the economy, education and health care.
After a quick helicopter jaunt back to New York, Diddy met up with young Republicans gathered as part of the Bush campaign's Party for the President Day. "We are here to understand what's going on with the beautiful Republican party," Diddy said as he stormed the event. "We heard y'all were strong. Y'all won the last election. We want to see what y'all are about."
The Bush supporters were happy to oblige, extolling the virtues of their party. "They let you choose how to spend your money," Bush supporter Britta explained. "They let you choose what school your kids are going to go to, and that's what you need. All you need from the government, whichever side it is, is for them to move out of the way."
As the day closed, Diddy remained firmly in the middle of the road and committed to bringing his issues to the candidates. "I am nonpartisan," he explained of his equal-opportunity ambush. "I'm gonna stick my nonpartisan foot up Bush's ass, up Kerry's ass. Republicans and Democrats, my foot is so way up your ass right now it's crazy."
whaddya think... open minded or just a publicity stunt?
I'm not quite sure. I don't know enough about P. Diddy to make a judgement. I know he's super rich and probably doesn't need any publicity.
I think Blacks would do well to understand their "pawn status" vis a vis the Rats.
Most serious minded people either don't know what a P-Piddy is, or if they do they don't care.
Puffy has never been know to exploit a situation for his own benefit, nor have I ever known him to attempt manipulation for free publicity.
It's just so unlike him.

Now why in the world is Kerry meeting "privately" with Puff Daddy? He really must have some time on his hands. Quite the clintonesque move, I'd say.
At least he seems open to Republican ideas. That's most the battle. Democrats win people over with slogans and emotions, when people actually listen to what the two parties say, Democrats are in trouble.
On occasion I do check out MTV, especially when they do some 'news' event. Its quite frightening the far left bias of this network considering how impressionable some youths can be.
Yeah, the middle of the road.....Like hell

Good grief! Who could take P Diddy or Puff Daddy or whatever name he uses seriously as a political consultant? It would be nice if a semi-popular Black entertainer decided to be a Republican, but that's hardly a reasonable use of the candidate's time.
If Kerry lost all of the P D vote, would it matter? If Bush got all of it, would it matter? I don't think so.
In his quest to be our president, the dem nominee has time to meet with some faded hiphop clown, but he doesn't have time to receive national security breifings.
"At least he seems open to Republican ideas. ..."
Maybe P.Diddy is tired of getting taxed up to his ying-yang.
According to newsmeat the only candidates he's supported are Hillary and Rev. Al Sharpton, so I think it's safe to assume he's a liberal
I think Diddy is a young Donald Trump. He dabbles in alot of stuff.
All I know is I liked him when I saw him at a concert right after 911 and he was waving the flag and enthusiastically shouting his love for the US.
Queezy made it clear that if you don't vote the way we tell you, you've been fooled by the eveil conservative conspiracy.
A lot of "we was robbed." And, I hope us non-racists have good people examining the voter rolls to minimize black voter fraud. They clearly intend to whine about every effort to question any black voter, no matter how many times he tries to votes.
So, if Diddy doesn't want to be accused of selling out to whitey ("if you aren't with us, you're against us"), he is 1000% with the black racist dems.
The failure of both speakers was that neither acknowledged and gave credit to the black rappers who are working so hard on behalf of their people. They also failed to urge the solution to whitey putting all those black guys in jail; stop buying/using./elling all the dope.
"I think Blacks would do well to understand their "pawn status" vis a vis the Rats"
Some do..just not nearly enough...if they wanna blame "the man" for keeping them down, they need to figure out who "the man" really is... i.e. the Liberal Left.
Agreed... I like that he's not jumping on the "blacks must vote democrat" bandwagon and is willing to take in both sides...I know this much about him...He knows about hard work, he's knows that to make it, you gotta do it yourself, no one is or should give it to you.... I personally find that admirable.
