Stewart said she hadn't given much thought to what her life behind bars would be like when asked how she would handle prison food, fellow inmates and strip searches. "I could do it," she said. "I'm a really good camper. I can sleep on the ground. … There are many, many good people who have gone to prison … look at Nelson Mandela."

‘I Didn’t Cheat Anybody’

Tell that to the sucker who bought your stock... And you also betrayed your position as member of the stock market

That was not the point - she compared herself to Mandela in a way that implied "neither of us was guilty".

My only wish is that you were the person that bought all the stocks that she dumped. I bet you 5 months that you would be singing a different tune.

But because the victim is "unlikable" and votes Dimocrat, it is perfectly OK with you folks

1. the woman has made millions selling a single product: Martha Stewart. So ipso facto she is not "unlikeable".

2. The stockmarket is like any other casino. The rules favour the house, but that does not mean they get to manipulate the turn of each card, or the spin of the wheel so they know the outcome.

Actually, Fish Hawk, that might not be the best of comparisons - ImClone stock is trading @ $80-90 right now.

What a clintonista, STUWARD DID CHEAT SOMEBODY! She dumped stock based on inside information that if PUBLICLY known would make the value less. SOMEBODY bought those shares without her "special knowledge".

Its everyone's fault but hers.

BS.

I hope the appeals court determines 5 monts is too light.

Gimmee a break...totalitarian?

Sheesh...if you lie to the FBI you get punished. She got the minimal sentence...she should be grateful for that.

Martha bailed and many "unaware" retail stockholders bit the bullet.

If this is true, why wasn't she convicted of insider trading? She was convicted for lying to the FBI and they wanted to convict her for saying she did nothing to the public but the judge threw that charge out.

In my opinion it should not be against the law to lie to the FBI since they can lie to us. That law sucks. And whoever prosecuted her is a lowlife for sure because they made that ridiculous second charge which the judge threw out.

>Her prosecution and conviction are an outrage and a >government crime of totalitarian proportions.

She was given the MINIMUM sentence allowed for her CRIME. This woman was a STOCKBROKER and on the board of the NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE. How in the hell did she not know what she was doing, but even beyond that, she was convicted of PURJURY and LYING TO POLICE. The fact that she is a b*tch and votes Democrat has nothing to do with the fact that she is a criminal. That same mentality you have is what have people wondering "All Bill Clinton did was get a hummer in his office, many a man has done that", but it wasn't what he did (bad enough) but that he LIED about it. The fact that you have no problem with her lying says alot about your character and how you feel about lying.

Nelson Mandela is just another murdering terrorist huckster the liberals love to knee pad for.

I for one have always liked Martha, and I have been getting her magazine since 1994. I even file them in seasonal order. I am surprised at the polarizing way she inficlts on people. You either love her or hate her. I really don't know if I like her personally, but I like her work ethic and her way of teaching things that she wants to teach or thinks people want to know. I have always been swayed by strong women like Martha, Dr. Laura, Judge Judy, etc., (Hillary not included), or any outspoken woman. If they were men, they would not be so ridiculed. I wish I had half the nerve to say one half of the things they do. I know i always think it, but never have the nerve. Which does not say much for me.

"I didn't go and cheat the little people."

Is she referring to dwarves or leprechauns?

Agreed...

Clinton lied to a grand jury, let you or me try that little stunt and see what happens. Yet the dems are still whining that he only lied about sex.

Too funny. She doesn't have a clue.

I spent three days in dormitory jail (DUI) sleeping on a 3" mattress I swear was filled with Lima beans and it seemed like weeks. A goose-down sleeping bag in the woods on the ground would've seemed like vacation. Fortunately, my sentence was only three days which I was able to endure fasting because the food wasn't fit for a billy-goat.

Any other like-minded "criminals" with similar stories?

She should immediately stop whining about the injustice of having to spend half her term on her mansion grounds that most people would pay money to visit on vacation for five months.

"...she compared herself to Mandela in a way that implied "neither of us was guilty"

Why is it when Lefties get themselves arrested or try to further their cause, they have to bring race into it? Stewart with Mandela. Gay marriage with black Civil Rights. During the Lewinsky affair, I even recall someone likening Clinton's behavior as being normal for a black man, reminding us of the fact that he was considered to be the first black President, so he might as well act like it.
