Bainbridge Island has done the right thing. Finally. The mayor of the community, six miles west of Seattle, has apologized for the way a U.S. veteran of the Iraq war was treated during a holiday parade there.

"Residents of Midland (or any other town where decent people are in the majority) would never jeer a disabled veteran and call him a murderer, regardless of his political affiliation."

That's right. Lieberals always assume that everyone else is as bad as they are themselves.

I read the email with interest. Are there conservative areas of Washington? I'm considering moving in a couple of years, and I have to admit I don't think an incident of this sort would have occurred in my area of SoCal.

I guess I could bite the bullet and head for Idaho, but in the meantime, which Washington counties/cities are the most conservative? Many thanks!

Go to http://www.fundrace.org/moneymap.php and check the counties. It looks like those places with rattlesnakes (east of the Cascades) or downriver from St. Helens and Mt. Hood, ie, sand, have some Republican donors. Then again, Washington was the only state to experience a general strike in the 1920s, courtesy of the IWW, the Wobblies. People were killed.

Thanks for the post.
