Everything I have learned about suitcase nukes (and Walmart), I have learned here on FR.

1) They exist
2) They probably work only as dirty bombs due to maintenance considerations
3) Al-Quaida may have them in the US and EU
4) They are a good terrorist weapon, whether used or not

I think that if they had them they would have used them first. Why would they pull off a much smaller attack like 9/11 which would allow us to regroup, identify the enemy and destroy them instead of killing as many of us as possible when they were not being watched?

And is it possible that AQ has somehow acquired these WMDs since 9/11? I think that it is not likely given the hightened state of surveillance since 9/11. Let's just hope that our guys keep killing those animals until they are all gone and can do us no more harm.

We got problems, no doubt, but Russian Suitcase Nukes are probably not worth losing sleep over. I would worry about the Iranians.

I would also worry about the Pakistanis who seem to have a track record of assisting others with nuclear technology, i.e., Iran, Libya, and North Korea. Based on personal experience, I have found the Paks to be the most devout and radical Islamicists in the world. They have the knowledge and fissile material to assist AQ in maintaining or rejuvenating suitcase nukes.

Thanks for reviving one of my year old posts! I'm reading it now with renewed interest. I post so many items that I don't keep track of them (don't keep a list).

Thanks very much. This one really should be recycled, and I appreciate your unearthing it. How did you find such a "golden oldie?"

Char :)

Char...Michael Savage interviewed Paul Williams today...the first I heard of him and his thesis. So I did a freerepublic search hoping to find additional information and came up with your post.

He doesn't need nukes yet. What would attacking us again do for him? He's recruiting more than he ever has before, US troops are out of Saudi Arabia, Israel is pulling out of some settlements, and he's free. What would setting off a nuclear bomb do for him?

Paul Williams discussed last year. He was interviewed on Savage last night and claim he's meeting with Tancredo today.
