"Kerry and lies go together like feces and flies"
it works better, more euphonic (and more pungent)

It's an honor to know fine men like you served in the Corps, also!

The medal vs ribbons thing was a sarcastic allusion to a statement by Kerry when he was trying to explain his contradictions about what he threw over the fence in his war protest days.

Andy, There are procedures to get your medals from the Navy, but it would require alot of hoop jumping. A couple of years ago the Navy Exchange Uniform shops started carrying large medals.
The easiest thing to do would be to have an active duty Sailor or retiree buy the medals for you.

I watched about four stations on July 4th (because my couch potato brother in law was visiting and held the remote), including the presentation at Ford's Theater (where Lincoln was shot in April 1865) where President and Mrs. Bush were in attendance. There were MoH vets from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and (I believe, the constant changing of the channel makes it hard to remember much) the Gulf War and the liberation of Afghanistan.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

Andy? Don't know anybody named Andy.
Thanks for the info though. I do know a few guys still on active duty. I'll have to see if they can get them for me. I would have bought them when I was in, but I never saw those medals available in the Exchange.

Wow! Great collection of facts concerning Kerry's duplicitous and despicable voting record concerning vets.

Ah, I get it. %-) I meant no offense. I explained the difference between medals and ribbons because, unfortunately, there are so many people that honestly don't know. It comes up in conversation quite a bit, actually. (I live in Seattle).
And as for what he threw over the fence, it was what little shred of honor and itty bitty piece of a soul that he may have had left - and even those were lies. He has no soul, no honor, and hopefully, no chance!

We often see these letters...like 50 nuclear scientists....or 20 world-renown envirnomentalists...but the question here is this...if you had to be in a really bad situation and you could have only one companion...I'd always pick the Medal of Honor recipient. I'd know that his head was in the right place and the trust involved would be absolute. You can't say that for nuclear scientists or environmentalists.
