I beg you to read Mrs. Swirsky's latests NewsMax.com column with the utmost serious attention. Why isn't the information being widely publicized concerning the existence of 20 suitcase nuke bombs set and ready to be exploded any day now, in 20 American cities? Is this "John-John" team the one we want to deal with this horrific threat to America?

The idea is scary, but it seems to me that if such things existed and that terrorists did have them, they would have used them by now.

Welcome to FR.
You might want to rethink whether putting your full name & town on an open forum is a good idea.

I agree, there is no motivation for any terrorist to hold onto these for a rainy day explosion. I think they would be too eager to set one off once they got it into the country.

The stupidest thing about these stories is that it would be easier for an organization to build or buy a huge intercontinental ballistic missile system to deliver the payload than suitcases. Why do think we developed the missile system???? Do think all our pentagon scientists are walking around swatting their selves on the heads going "Gosh Darn! Why didn't we think of that? Those cunning arabs!".

Umm, let's see - this story first emerged back in 2001. Since then, we weren't nuked in 2002. We weren't nuked in 2003. We weren't nuked in 2004 (so far). Am I missing something???

I first thought of that too but then pondered that acquiring these weapons and getting them in place may be a fluid dynamic process. I'm not sure we can say that because one hasn't gone off that they aren't out there being lined up. What's scary about this is if it's true do you think the admin would tell us? What's to be gained by panicing the public.
To: CHARLITE
This has been hashed over time and time again on FR.
If they had them, they would have used them. Al qaeda does not have any functioning nuk-U-ler bombs.

Last week NewsMax claimed there were 40 of them.
Have they found 20 since then?

Some months ago, a freeper stated that the trigger on these devices had a shelf life of 60 days.
Any comments?

Why isn't the information being widely publicized concerning the existence of 20 suitcase nuke bombs set and ready to be exploded any day now, in 20 American cities? Because it is garbage and not true. Remember the media wins attention by playing on your fears. Remember when Newsmax was guaranteeing that Hillary would run for President in '04? Pretty scary but never happened.

I remember reading somehere the triggers for these things have a short shelf life.
Unless these are "new", the old soviety versions are already stale.
anyone have any real info?

What's really scary is that the airlines probably lost them.....
