IPW has started a new gallery featuring poster-style artwork by our artist, Linda Eddy As with our political cartoons, we'd like to see these used to promote conservative causes. [NOTE: a photo of this young Afghanistan girl is posted on a thread on Free Republic]

THAT is just magnificent! What a talent you have.
I realize that I am speaking out of school, but perhaps if you used a brush this would not be a problem!!!
I don't know if you can use it, but there's a photo from the actual war that would tell the story perfectly...
A slightly overweight senior NCO with glasses, sitting cross legged, with a young child cradled in his arms...
Do you know which one I'm thinking of? It's not exactly 'what I'm giving my life for', but I think it's just as powerful.
Maybe, 'If you don't support why I saved his life, then you don't support me.'
Thanks for the ping. This is beautiful.
Thanks for the ping. Nice post.
I found this at http://www.ranger.org/photos_2003.html
This is what the webmaster says at the top of his page:

AMEN. I AGREE. THE GOP NEEDS TO USE THIS POSTER IN THE CAMPAIGN.
wonderful poster Linda!
Thanks for the ping! This is a striking poster that reminds me that one of the most important things we can accomplish in Afghanistan and Iraq is foster the development of an entire generation of children that do not hate the United States of America.
I liked the NCO picture with the child, and that's one of the reasons we're there.
The major reason, though, is to protect America after 9/11. The War on Terror took us there to keep chemicals and biologics out of the hands of the terrorists who want to murder us.
Those same politicians who cry out "we support the troops" will then say that the reason for being there is flawed. They send the message to our troops that they give their lives for nothing. They know it, and they get away with it partly because of their "support the troops" words, and partly because of a liberal press.
I think a collage of 9/11 towers aflame, the gassed Kurdish children, the NCO holding the child, the invasion of Kuwait....all of these are why we are there.
I remember that. It is a great photo!
Actually, I couldn't agree with you more...
That picture does tug at the heartstrings, though.
That is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes! You have such a wonderful gift!
I remember seeing that photo of the soldier holding the little child and just crying. Thanks for finding it. I will get to that website and bookmark it for reference. YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT to find this, many thanks!!!!!
Many thanks! Once again, your work is SUPERB!
Thats just beautiful and it makes me happy and so proud that this generation of Afghan girls will not grow up in ignorance or be subjected to the steady stream of hate and brutality of Taliban rule.
The attribution is at the bottom right-hand side of the photo. It looks like: Damir Sagolj / Reuters .
Beautiful! The look on her face says it all.
American Moms don't think that way. This splendid result they will understand automatically and know from whence it came. It is first nature with them.
Got to see this.
