Hmmmm - I wuz robbed!!
My two sisters and I had to take turns cranking the handle of the old ice cream churn.
Hard on the arms, but the product was so wonderful on a hot day!

That's cute, sweet Lady! I LOVE that special name of Woofie Toofums! (giggle) That's really one of the most endearing things I've seen on Free Republic.

I remember putting towels on the top of the freezer and sitting on it while someone else turned the crank...
We had our own cow and chickens so we had rich and creamy ice cream when we could spare the sugar during the WW2 years...
Wonderful ice cream is available at the market and ice cream parlors today but I will never forget the joy and anticipation of the old fashioned homemade kind.

However, "Barbara" has coloring like Laura's mother, Jenna - -
and "Jenna" resembles GW's mother, Barbara!
