Are the ingredients in place for a dirty bomb at the Fleet Center in Boston?

The headline reflects one of the many possible scenarios considered by the radical Islamists who want us all dead. They don't care if they kill Republicans or Democrats, hawks or war protestors, Rush Limbaugh or their pal Michael Moore.

Do they have a scenario for an attack on the DemocRATic National Convention at the Fleet Center in Boston scheduled for July 26-29? Consider the following:

ITEM: On or about April 8, 2004, a 9200-gallon fuel transport truck was stolen from TK Transport Terminal in Pennsauken, NJ. It has not been recovered.

ITEM: On April 21, 2004, two pieces of highly radioactive fuel rods were stolen from the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. They have not been recovered.

ITEM: Hussain Al-Hussaini, implicated in the Oklahoma City bombing by Jayna Davis in her blockbuster, THE THIRD TERRORIST, has a last known location in, you guessed it, Boston, MA. Al-Hussaini has had several jobs at gas stations. He only works the graveyard shift, a shift at which a tanker truck might be filled over time without too much notice.

ITEM: Those in charge of security at the DNC convention are so worried about the close proximity of I-93 to the Fleet Center, that the freeway will be closed in both directions the four nights of the convention.

What are the plans to stop a fully loaded tanker truck? How close might it be able to get to the Fleet Center?

I am sure that DNC security officials, the FBI, local and state agencies, and the Secret Service have considered hundreds of scenarios. This is probably one of them.

It already is a mini-catastrophe in Boston. I know a couple of retail places that are closing down completely for the week. Also - if anything happens they'll declare martial law and no one will be able to go in or out of the city. The local hospitals have already made arrangements to keep all their staff right in the city because they won't be able to leave. Also - last I knew Fidelity's trading facility is directly on the harbor. Yikes - I better start packing!

However, I would love to them give the FLEET Center a timely enema!

I know you were being flippant, but that's just a stupid comment.

I'm sure you not ACTUALLY wishing the terrorists success in slaughtering innocents (along with Rats)

Terrorists would prefer to go after Republican convention first so sKerry would have a chance of becoming president.

Oh but image the spin. Bush didn't do enough to stop terrorism!!! Bush orchestrated the whole thing to attack the Dems!!!! Then add in the sympathy vote.

As a former Masshole (reformed and escaped), I'd like to say...one can hope so...

"That was just wrong...Lord, I apologise for that right there, and pray for the starving pygmies in Africa...amen"

I'm sure no LNG tankers will be allowed in during the convention.

In much the same way no commercial airliners are permitted over downtown Manhattan?

Even if it's not terrorism, I am guessing that the best thing that could come out of the Dem Convention is a "dirty bomb."

The furthest hotel for all the delegates is 3.5 miles from the Fleet Center.

I believe that the Al-Quada - Taliban terrorists would not attack the convention of their U.S. Public Relations supporters!

Tankers are gravity drop.

Standard gas pump hoses will not reach the tanker filler opening on top of the tank...

They'd have to fill it a coke bottle at a time.

I don't have the answer. If we can think it, they can do it.

I completely agree with that. AQ has proven to be clever and skillfully organized, and I believe they could use any of a variety of methods to cause damage, harm, terror, and death in this country. Perhaps this is what many here don't quite understand. AQ WANTS nothing less than the destruction of our way of life, and they will try anything to achieve that goal no matter how long it takes.

If they can plan airliners hitting our buildings, don't you think they could adapt a hose that works for this?

Why would the terrorists attack their allies in America (aka Democrats)?.....

Paradoxically, the fundamentalist Arabs who hate sinful things have more in common with the American conservatives who also hate the sinful practices of the liberal left. It is therefore right and proper for them to hold the sinners to account.

Hollywood, the jewish owned American press, the liberal anything goes Northeast cities are all on the list of Satan induced sins the Islamist fundamentalists hold against America. A little discrimination might knock off the sinners while rewarding the good guys.

The Mass Turnpike and railroad lines travel directly under Copley Place where many of the hotels are located - Westin, Marriot, Sheraton, Copley Plaza, Park Plaza and where the Hancock Tower and Prudential Tower are located. hmmm...with an LNG tanker you don't even have to be close to anything, just within a mile or two.
