Are the ingredients in place for a dirty bomb at the Fleet Center in Boston?

The headline reflects one of the many possible scenarios considered by the radical Islamists who want us all dead. They don't care if they kill Republicans or Democrats, hawks or war protestors, Rush Limbaugh or their pal Michael Moore.

Do they have a scenario for an attack on the DemocRATic National Convention at the Fleet Center in Boston scheduled for July 26-29? Consider the following:

ITEM: On or about April 8, 2004, a 9200-gallon fuel transport truck was stolen from TK Transport Terminal in Pennsauken, NJ. It has not been recovered.

ITEM: On April 21, 2004, two pieces of highly radioactive fuel rods were stolen from the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. They have not been recovered.

ITEM: Hussain Al-Hussaini, implicated in the Oklahoma City bombing by Jayna Davis in her blockbuster, THE THIRD TERRORIST, has a last known location in, you guessed it, Boston, MA. Al-Hussaini has had several jobs at gas stations. He only works the graveyard shift, a shift at which a tanker truck might be filled over time without too much notice.

ITEM: Those in charge of security at the DNC convention are so worried about the close proximity of I-93 to the Fleet Center, that the freeway will be closed in both directions the four nights of the convention.

What are the plans to stop a fully loaded tanker truck? How close might it be able to get to the Fleet Center?

I am sure that DNC security officials, the FBI, local and state agencies, and the Secret Service have considered hundreds of scenarios. This is probably one of them.

I don't disagree. I appreciate the article you linked for an update, and I was unaware of it. From the article, it indicated that they are not sure.

What are the specs of a Fruehauf Model T-118; the one which was stolen?

I don't know. But even without a vacume pump... I'd guess that for $1000 dollars you can outfit it with one. It's not a complicated thing.

Well, you will have the following elements of a weapon of mass destruction:

Hitlery (And Your Little Dog, Too!) Clinton

Ted (The Floater) Kennedy

Bill (I'll Hit On Anything with Two X Chromosones) Clinton

Barney (I'll Hit On Anything with an X and Y Chromosone) Fwank

Tom (I Only Hit On Knees) Daschel

Patrick (I'll Leak Anything To Hurt My Country) Leahey

Et Al

Yep, all of the components for a really dirty bomb will be in place

me, I think they'll strike in Europe..

May I ask why? Mental exercises like this are a bad habit of mine but, for the life of me, I can't get anywhere with their thinking.

A truck full of gasoline will not even explode unless you agitate the fuel into air and a confined chamber to allow pressure to develop

That is what you said bonehead. The air has nothing to do with the pressure developing. And you can't "agitate" the fuel and the air together. That statement has no meaning.

I linked this thread to the daily threat matrix thread and forgot to ping you. It's an excellent discussion. Hope that's okay with you. ;-D

And there is no such thing as "adjetating fuel into the air"

You must have never heard of a carburetor on a car. Too young to remember those?

btw, you didn't even use my example of how to correctly spell agitating.

Thanks, all, for adding great insight and your expertise on this thread. All that we collectively know, they also know. Let's try to not yell at each other here, okay?

Al Qaeda has learned a great deal from the IRA. They have a great deal of experience. The IRA is also very busy training bad guys in S. America.

You know they call that a mixture. It's not an agitator. It's not like you shake it up, or agitate it and the pressure goes up.

The explosionn is what increases the pressure. you can stop now.

And the increased pressure on the fuel mixture inside your car occures when the piston compresses the MIXTURE 9 to 1... 11 to 1 or whatever.

The explosion creates force of the piston, the pressure is created prior to the explosion.

Because they'e not stupid....never forget that..look, if they don't manage an attack during the conventions...then the basic thesis will be that WE prevented it..ergo, a win for us, a defeat for them...same thing during trhe Olympics..it's a big, tempting taget..but security is massive...so if we prevent/foil it..it's a loss for them..better to take a soft target..get a strike..maintain the aura of invincibility/inevitability...my prediction.FWIW...in Europ..just after the Olympics..when collective breath is released...over NO attacks...I'd say Italy...because of strong support for US in Iraq..that would, IMHO backfire.better choice is France..which has cracked down HARD of late on radical Isalmics..

the carburetor does the agitation, thereby creating a mixture. you are wrong again, so stop.

Someone wrote that the bridge that runs right by the Fleet will remain open because of its importance. I do not think so for he duration of convention as any truck with hazardous loads (fuel, chemicals, etc.) are already banned forever because once one goes by the Fleet one enters a $14 billion tunnel. No vehicles will be permitted except for secret service and other security forces.

I commute several days a week north and south on US Rt. 93 and every evening MA state troopers are positioned on overpasses with binoculars from Boston all the way to the NH border. I suspect there is reasonable intelligence with respect to vehicles that terrorists may drive. In fact there is that I am privy to and I can't say.

the carb does not aggitate. It allows gas and air to travel into the cylinder compression. The amount of either component can be set by a qualified , or non-qualified mechanic.

Your washing machine has an agitator in it though? Hey.. do you work for maytag?

Look, i was still using the tanker example, where there is no friggin piston to increase the pressure. i am not using your flawed premises here.
