GAINESVILLE - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Johnny Isakson said Monday in Gainesville he wants a straight win, not a runoff in next Tuesday's primary.
The Sixth District Congressman found friendly ground when he called on Cottrell Incorporated, a Gainesville based vehicle transport equipment producer.
He spoke to plant workers and met with Cottrell executives.
Isakson said he's working just as hard as opponent Herman Cain for a winning vote next Tuesday.
Cain stopped in Clermont Saturday at the beginning of a state wide campaign swing and predicted he and Isakson would emerge from the July 20th Republican Primary in a runoff contest.
Again, you're making stuff up. Since you refuse to, I'll add the customary
BLESSED IS A SHILL FOR JOHNNY ISAKSON
disclaimer.
Herman Cain started TV advertisements in FEBRUARY. He was the first candidate to go on the air. http://www.cainforsenate.com/news-dev.asp?articleid=2
I belive Collins has now started airing ads.
A couple of thoughts on the Senate Polls.
1)Isakson has spent $5.4 million on this race and has $1 million in bank.I bet he is polling weekly.
2)If Cain is running a viable race he has to have polls.
Isakson is behaving like he thinks he has enough voters to win if he can get them to the polls.Notice he finished the debate last night encouraging people to vote early.More important in metro area than rest of state. This article is the second one in 2 weeks to intimate that they believe 51% is within reach.
If Cain had polls showing him gaining he would reveal them and use them to pull in the last minute money he needs.
Why is Isakson not sharing his polls to show how far ahead he is?
Isakson is worried. This upstart named Herman Cain and his train full of conservatives is coming chugging up the track, and Johnny standing on the tracks, wide-eyed with fear. Isakson sure has become conservative in the last few months.
The grassroots for Cain is phenomenal. Let's hope it works. What a breath of fresh air Cain would be in the senate.
You may have a feeling more rural folks are voting GOP and they are but they are out numbered. The metro Atlanta area excluding Dekalb casts 75-85% of its votes in the GOP primary. That is a fact. Most rural counties are still 55/45 in primaries. Many counties still have a lot of local races in Dem primary.
The biggest factor is the Metro area is growing in population every year and they are Corporate transfers(economic conservatives)
Explain why anyone should pay attention to anything you post when you're clearly an Isakson shill and a habitual liar?
>Why is Isakson not sharing his polls to show how far ahead he is? <
Maybe because he has been a Georgia Football fan for the last 40 years.
>Explain why anyone should pay attention to anything you post when you're clearly an Isakson shill and a habitual liar?<
And your not a Cain Shill? You may not like my opinion and you may not like my facts but you seem to have a hard time refuting either. So the easiest thing is to call me a lier.(common practice over on DU)
I easily refuted your lies about TV advertisements on this very thread. And I've refuted previous lies of your in the past.
So Cain doesn't release his and it means he's behind, but Johnny doesn't release his so it means he's a Bulldogs fan?
** head spinning **
I don't give a rat's @$$ what football team my Senator roots for, or if he does.
BTW- I am proudly a Cain shill, just so everyone knows ;-)
If you really live in Ga.you can probably get that riddle solved in 10 minutes.
Yes, yes I do. And I'm sure you knew it was a lie when you posted it.
You are making absolutly no sense, Blessed.
And are you questioning if I really live in GA?
Go Isakson!
>And I've refuted previous lies of your in the past.<
I guess your reply to me fits here since that never happened unless using the same reply to me you use for everyone who questions the"king of sound bites" is refuting a lie.
>And I'm sure you knew it was a lie when you posted it.<
I wonder how someone in N.C. became such a great arbiter of Ga. Politics and whats true and false about this race?
>And are you questioning if I really live in GA?,
Not really. I will take your word for it but I am surprised that any Southerner much less anyone who had been in Ga. more than a few years would not understand my analogy.
I will leave it at that.
I live in Peachtree City, an affluent suburb with plenty of corporate transfers. To call these people "economic conservatives"--with the implication that they favor abortion-on-demand, as RINO Johnny Isakson does--is a lie. I see lots and lots of Cain bumper stickers here too, while the only ones I've seen for Isakson were in Buckhead (in the City of Atlanta's financial district).
You have previously vouched for Isakson's pro-life credentials (FALSE, he supports legal abortion and has for years), tried to maintain that his military hospitals vote is his only pro-life blemish (FALSE, aside from 14 pro-abort votes in the House, he has a long record of opposition to pro-life legislation that has never come to a vote, for example: "In his 1990 bid for governor, Isakson angered anti-abortion Republicans by declaring that he would veto any legislation that restricted access to abortion." --AJC), and tried to say Isakson's position on abortion ("personally opposed to it" but wouldn't outlaw it) was the same as Cain's (again FALSE).
I wonder how someone in N.C. became such a great arbiter of Ga. Politics and whats true and false about this race?
I make sure to step in when the pro-abortion crowd starts playing fast and loose for their precious candidates -- in this case, you and Isakson. I have a very great interest in seeing a conservative majority in the US Senate some day, and last I checked senators were elected from all 50 states.
