They may. But one judge doesn't make the law, no matter how many people rant about "black robed tyrants."

Go ahead. Try to subvert the process, or play a political game, whichever is your goal. But don't pretend it is conservative, because it is not.

You did not listen to me. Do a Lexis/Nexis search or a Google search and find the statements by the Lesbian judge and then tell me I am wrong. She stated her agenda. The ruling makes it OK for 2 people of the same gender to get married. Education is a good thing.

They have BROKEN the law in California. The highest aims of conservatism are upholding traditional values and the order of the ages against those bent upon changing or subverting them.

To whom may I ask, do the unelected Mass Supremes answer to?

Their extreme-Left constituency...the fringe that pulls the strings of the modern Democrat Party.

Time to make them pay for their bold in-your-face arrogance where it counts; at the ballot box.

I don't know, I heard him say their name, but wasn't really listening at the time.

Its not a political game. The representatives of the people may vote wrongly but at least they are accountable. The same thing cannot be said of our federal judiciary.

Not the voters of Massachusetts, they don't. Why should they have any hand in construing the Mass. Constitution?

As for judges - people in Mass. pick their judges their way. Too bad you don't like it, but you don't get to decide for them. As far as answering to the voters, I'm sure it works much the same way it works in the several other states and the Federal gov't - the elected official who appoints them gets to answer for them.

You are missing the point. I don't care what she says. What she says about a Federal statute is not the law. She can't strike it down. She can say whatever she wants about it. What she says does not create a need for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Whatever they say, they are not really talking about rights. They are talking about the privilege of employers paying for benefits.

^^^^

Gay activists use these arguments to create 'reasonableness' and 'sympathy' for their cause, but what they are REALLY after is the official approval of the government of the US that same-sex sexual behavior is "normal."

Our already super-saturated-with-sexual-images children will be taught that attraction to the same or opposite sex is immaterial and equivalent. Parents who try not to teach this message will be accused of hate speech.

This will be very destructive to the normal development of the next generation of citizens. The homosexual lobby Wants to convince the very young that same-sex sex is good.

"The ruling makes it OK for 2 people of the same gender to get married."

Which does not violate DOMA, as long as it doesn't implicate Federal benefits or require recognition by any other state.

Since you like education so much, you should go get some.

But don't pretend it is conservative, because it is not.

Come down off your high-horse.

The defense of the most fundamental human institution and the basic building block of civilization; marriage; is as conservative as it gets.

Your continued attempt to defend the destruction of that institution on the basis that to do so is somehow 'not conservative' is silly to say the least.

The people of Mass have to wait two years to override a rogue court. There was nothing in their Constitution about gay marriage being a right up until now. Their Supreme Court created out of whole cloth a right that wasn't there. And the four who made the decision can be removed through a Bill Of Address as I understand it. We cannot have a safe Union if judges follow the fads of the moment instead of adhering to the time settled principles of constitutional reasoning.

Hannity is reviewing the dims intel strategy memo that was leaked to him. He read the part about attaching their own views, just like Rocky, Levin, and Durbin did.

Hey as long as you're descending into the mud-pit, I think it's fair to say that anyone who opposes this amendment is a mentally deranged cultural terrorist

I might admit to being deranged. :)

But I wonder where in the Constitution it is the Gov's business?

conservative principles

How would someone know exactly what these are?
They seem to differ from one extreme to another, depending on who's doing the talking.(or typing)
Who makes these decisons?
Isn't traditional marriage (between one woman and one man) something that most conservatives value?
Is there a difference between conservative principles and values? If so which is more important than the other?

"The highest aims of conservatism are upholding traditional values and the order of the ages against those bent upon changing or subverting them."

And that is where we disagree profoundly. The highest aims of conservatism are limiting the intrusion of governmental power into our freedom to live to our fullest potential.

Why don't you want California to deal with violations of California law? Why are you running to Congress to do it for you?

It is conservative to defend the achievements of the past. And the family, the "little platoons" of society is the most important one, the one that gives vitality and substance to our civilization.

Their Supreme Court created out of whole cloth a right that wasn't there.

Just the way abortion was legalized by the US Supreme Court, of course.
