Born 1954 Flint Michigan. Near Canada I suppose but as they say close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades.

Just imagine if that sign said "F--k you Bush. Go Michael Moore." FRONT PAGE NY TIMES,guaranteed... "Servicemembers slam Bush, embrace filmmaker Moore"

If you can edit the original better than I can, please do! CG is definitely not my strong point.

You actually did a decent job. Editing and reposting JPEGs is always going to hurt because the JPEG compression on the rest of the photo has already been done once, and any changes you make will only be compressed once on re-save while the rest will have been done twice. The artifacting will be different.

One trick for the dashes you did is to not create them yourself. Copy a horizontal bar from the rest of the text, preferably with a slightly fuzzed selection, and paste it where you want it. A very slight rotation will help since most people tend to write dashes on signs with a slight incline (direction depending on whether you're a righty or a lefty), but look to the rest of the text for clues. Then don't make the lines exactly the same length, since most people won't write them that way (look at the top and bottom of the "I"). Also notice that their horizontals are thicker and longer, so try to immitate that.

I like it! Short and to the point.

But if this is a hand-looking font, it's a good one, the two Es and Ms are different, the 3 Os are different, and the system automatically inserted the variations. That would be a good trick.

Sorry, but a blind man could see the massive artifacts in the first image, as opposed to the much cleaner resolution of the original second. Yes, I know there are lots of websites out there like you describe, but my original image isn't from any of them. If you've read this thread, you will see that others here with knowledge in image editing have stated that if the original image is a fake, it's an incredibly good one. It's not fake.

Thanks for your concern, though.

Oh, OK, I don't buy your story, so I'm in denial. Gotcha. Do you do debate coaching for democrats, by any chance?

I've already told you that this image was from a retired Marine colonel, who says it's authentic. He said it, I believe it. End of story.

By the way, speaking of literary talent, "denail" is spelled "denial.

Cheers,

I never claimed it authentic. Just that if it it's a fake, it's a pretty good one. Good job keeping the letters inconsistent, especially how they get smaller at the end of "Goldberg" as someone would do when running out of room when writing by hand.

I've seen that done for a quality manual typewriter font. It had several for each character which represented different key pressures and paper textures. It would randomize for each character you typed. This font was expensive.
