Channel 14 News (Carolinas) presented the same set of questions to each of the Republican Primary candidates, above. The questions were not presented to the incumbent Dem Governor, because he has no opposition. I assume the no opposition thing is the reason the Libertarian candidate was given the questions either.

These are their responses.

Voting deadline is July 20- so check 'em out and make your comments. Whatever you do, if you're in NC, don't forget to vote by or on July 20!

Why do they never ask the only important question:
"What is the proper function of government in a free society?"

All the usual questions can be lumped together by asking, "What goodies will you promise to give us at the expense of others?"

Cobey and Barrett were the only two who promised to reduce regulations as a way to boost the economy. The others don't seem to get it.

Cobey and Barrett were the only two who promised to reduce regulations as a way to boost the economy.

From Fern's website:

"Retaining jobs is vitally important in North Carolina right now, as high taxation, regulation, and litigation are driving jobs and entrepreneurs to other states...."
I have heard all the candidates in debate and Shubert, Cobey, Ballantine and Barrett all discuss the need to become more "business friendly" through reduced regulation.

The real difference is action, though. Take a good look at Ballantine's voting record and see if he has really done anything to reduce regulations that strangle business.

Fern's record is solid. She gets it, and is probably the only one who can prove that she does.

Sorry. I missed that. I like what Fern has to say, and think I'll vote for her.
