>>>In basements several stories down . . .
Not sure if either of you were active in thread 1? Thread 2?
But we were discussing underground tunnels then.
I know a few mosques here were built on/very near some.
These tunnels are now listed as 'legend' in official NJ pages. But they aren't legend, I grew up by a few entrances and they were used in the Revolutionary War Routes.
When this was brought up on the older threads....a few freepers referenced underground tunnels in their hometowns too.
Opinion?

I personally don't see why tunnels would not be a viable place--depending on the tunnel--to hide nukes.
Again, I'm no expert.
Thx.

SECRET PASSAGESI only came to the TM around thread nine. But Underground Atlanta and underground Seattle aren't legends, they're tourist attractions! The link above is to the History Channel's online store referencing the episode featuring secret tunnels that once allowed gangsters to elude the police. The summary of the episode is interesting.

BTW, I seriously doubt the existence of such tunnels here in Miami, Florida. The water table is too high. Plus most of the bedrock in the area is limestone, which often leads to huge sinkholes swallowing homes or opening chasms in highways, at times. Not condusive to long term viability of such feats of engineering.
