I was the custodian of classified documents when I was on the 9th ID G-4 (Logistics) staff. Part of my job was to comb the office after everybody left and look for any such papers and either put them in the safe or take them to the Staff Duty Officer for safe keeping. Oh and in case of a bomb threat, I along with all the other lieutenants in the building had standing orders to search the building for the bomb. Talk about being expendable!

Delta Flight 822 from Cincinnati arrived at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks just before 5:00.
According to airport officials, a member of the ground crew spotted a "substance" on the floor of the cargo hold and alerted authorities.
All the passengers were let off the plane and officials are now trying to determine what that powder is.

Yeah, well,
my Taipei USN COMCEN job in emergency contexts was to get the M16 or whatever it was at that time, and run outside the security door, lock it behind me and stand guard to be the first one shot as the center was assaulted.
Wheee!

We have 1,000 pound safes the size of a common filing cabinet in our individual offices. The computer rooms have spin dials with alarms. A cleared security guard walks the floor every 30 minutes...7 X 24. The TS folks work inside a Faraday cage with a spin dial door. That's just our civilian contractor offices. That bunker at SHAPE is a completely different beast. After walking through double blast doors with finger stock around the edges, you get to the first security station. Guards with automatic weapons and bullet proof glass booths. Don't even screw around in that environment. Acute lead poisoning is probable.
