Backup electrical systems failed to kick in
A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained six days later.
Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

...And there's a sentence you're unlikely to hear again.

Thanks for posting the funny money. Wondering if a flood of conterfeit cash is about to hit...
To: JellyJam
The mall kiosks could easily be a dispersal point for counterfeit cash.

Excellent post nwctwx. The following is a post I made on another thread to someone who, in a shrill voice, was denouncing anyone who dared think AQ might have nukes, as a scaremonger.
Al Qaeda terrorists and related groups are set to use chemical, biological and nuclear weapons in deadly strikes, according to a new CIA report.
Washington Times
"Usama bin Laden's terror network claims to have bought ready-made nuclear weapons (search) on the black market in central Asia, the biographer of Al Qaeda's No. 2 leader was quoted as telling an Australian television station"
Fox News
"Administration officials said Sunday the emphasis on radiation detection has grown in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks and in response to fears that the al Qaeda terrorist network may succeed in its ambition to obtain either a nuclear device or materials to spread radiation in an urban area."
ABCNews
"he thought that al-Qaeda may already have a nuclear device and is simply looking for an opportunity to deliver it is hanging over the professional security community and those in the government responsible for protecting us. The fear comes from a discovery that U.S. intelligence basically ignored A.Q. Khan and Pakistani intelligence's nuclear proliferation activities prior to 9/11."
PublicEducationCenter
"Clearly the most serious scenario is if weapons-grade HEU can be obtained by a terrorist group. Due to the very low neutron emission rate, very low technology can produce a substantial probability of full insertion and high yield detonation. A weapon constructed from 40 kg of 93.5% HEU, with a 10 cm tungsten carbide reflector would produce a full yield of >10 kt. The required assembly time for a 50% chance of complete assembly is some 48 milliseconds, equal to a velocity of only 9 m/sec. This can be achieved by simply dropping the bullet 4.4 meters! Crude gun-type arrangements, along the lines of the IRA's makeshift mortars could easily achieve velocities of 100 m/sec or more." NuclearWeaponArchive.org
"MOSCOW (Reuter) - President Boris Yeltsin's former environmental safety adviser said in remarks published on Monday that some of Russia's portable nuclear bombs might indeed be missing, as asserted by another former Yeltsin aide"

" If AQ has paid cash for some of these, I don't think they will risk detection by moving them far. Therefore, unless these are already prepositioned near NYC or the District of Columbia, they dare not risk detection in trying to move it closer."
I agree and that points to some level of unofficial Russian collusion even if it probably is retired personnel and not actively doing this for the current Russian powers though that possibility has to be considered as well.
There is no sense in moving the suitcase bombs as they were placed initially (and shielded with lead to prevent detection) according to some well planned strategy and it would be expedient for al qaida to utilize that. It is the dirty bombs that are transient, they are the ones along with any nukes purchased outside CONUS that we are trying to find. I am hoping we may have knowledge about the old suitcases and have prevented the necessary maintenance to them.
I'm concerned about the rumored subs OBL purchased.

Unfortunately, "eom/daleel" are (AND THIS IS AN OPINION) are low-life, low-level jihadis and/or wannabes and/or jihad supporters and/or imitators. It may be one person or more than one person. No tinfoil necessary for that one. Agreed. EOM is a poser.

Ruth,
Not to worry. I will freepmail to you, and anyone else who would like to see them, any future postings from EOM I find.
Rather than arbitrarily assume, based on subjective, rather than objective reasons, that certain information is not fit for public consumption, I would rather look at all of it, until it is proven to be garbage. Lord knows we wade through enough garbage here every day, but how would we know it was garbage unless we had a chance to see it and decide for ourselves?
Heaven knows we wouldn't want to be considered less than serious in our intentions here.

I thought the jakel image of the wall street bull with Kaddafi came shortly after his change of "heart" and we quickly went into Libya to look at his nuclear stuff...we talked about his being sacrificed for his treason to the al qaida.
There was also some arab meeting (Oil related I think - Arab Oil League or something) shortly after that in which a shouting match related to Khaddafi's behavior occurred and somebody (Kaddafi?) walked out in a huff.
