A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

A group calling itself "Kataeb Mujahedeen" has threatened to behead A. Aaron Weisburd, founder of the Cyber-Terrorism watchdog site Internet Haganah - this week if he does not take down the Internet Haganah site. The threat is being taken seriously and authorities have been contacted, according to Mr. Weisburd.

The threat was received July 9th, 2004 at the headquarters of Internet Haganah in Carbondale, Illinois. The letter containing the threat was addressed to Mr. Weisburd, Internet Haganah. The sender portion of the envelope listed "Kataeb Mujahedeen" as the sender and Cherry Hill, New Jersey as the originating city. The envelope post stamp lists Philadelphia as the city of origin and is dated July 6, 2004.

Good question. Cuz you and I both know that if it were an islamcist website owner that was threatened, it'd be all over the news. CAIR would make sure of that.

OK, one really has to wonder here..

What on earth could be so bad (in terms of an attack) that they are talking about how the election could possibly/legally be postponed?

9/11 (for all the horror of the day) wouldn't have done this. Elections could have conceivably continued.

It would have to be something an order of magnitude larger, wouldn't it?

I'm for one taking this as another "dot" in the "they have suitcase nukes or other WMD and could conceivably use them" category.

As someone said..watch what they (the govt) says..not what they do. Add this to Ridge cancelling his visit with Sharon this week, and Daschle's comments (plus Boxers lack of comments), the warning from the Muslims in this weekend's Arabic paper from London ("leave the West..NOW") and something REALLY seems to be up. And it sure sounds like it's pretty significant.

This post is hysterical. There have been *far* more difficult times for America. Times when our very existence was threatened (WWII, Cold War, etc.). Don't make the mistake of exaggerating Al Qaeda's power. They are, at most, a handful of evil people. The rest are useful idiots (the suicide bombers). We've killed or captured many of the evil ones.

I think I know what you really meant to say, and I agree. This is a BIG dot. I wish I knew what they know.

Nukes or no nukes, they must have information that a strategic and immense attack is being planned that will significantly disrupt the electoral process.

What happens if the terrorists anounce they will randomly attack voters as they go to the polls? Or if they succesfully incapacitate our infrastructure while taking out several key politicians?

WASHINGTON — U.S. intelligence agencies are growing increasingly concerned that Al Qaeda's (search) next target in the United States could be the heart of America's economy — Wall Street (search).

Counterterrorism officials told The Post last night that new terrorist "chatter," picked up from intercepted phone calls and Internet chat rooms, indicates Islamic fanatics have Wall Street and other financial institutions in their cross hairs as part of a second terror attack inside America.

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge (search) and other Bush administration officials issued a high-profile warning last week. They said new intelligence information indicated that Osama bin Laden and his top deputies are personally involved in planning an attack inside the United States that could be timed before the November election.

Ridge and U.S. officials say they are not aware of any specific plans.

But law-enforcement officials said a Wall Street attack has been the subject of recent inter-agency discussions between the CIA, the FBI, the Treasury Department, the Department of Homeland Security and other law-enforcement agencies.

Security has been dramatically increased around the New York Stock Exchange and other high-profile financial institutions around the country since the 9/11 attacks as bin Laden himself has made clear several times that an attack on the U.S. economy is a priority.

In an April 29 audio-taped message, someone purporting to be bin Laden said that "after the strike of the New York blessed days, thanks to God, their losses exceed a trillion dollars. Their budgets have been in deficits for the third year in a row."

Terrorism expert Rita Katz said in recent months she has seen an increase in literature on Web sites used by extremists from Al Qaeda leaders urging talking about the need to hit economic targets.

In one message, monitored and translated by Katz's Washington-based organization, the SITE Institute, Al Qaeda leaders gave supporters "practical examples" of what kinds of targets to hit.

They include international corporations and "experts on the economy."

"The goals of hitting these targets are to create a disruption in the stability required for moving the economic sector towards progression," the Al Qaeda message said.

"As a result of the blessed strikes in Madrid, for instance, the entire European economy suffered," it added.

Greetings, all. Just starting to catch up. Had some thoughts last evening that I would like to share with everyone:

1.OK---Re: 20 nukes in 20 US cities. We first learned about this from Sean last winter- only he had mentioned some 30+ nukes in clusters of 4-5 across major US cities (recall the NEST team searches?)

OK- Recall that Red Cross list of hiring for "POST DISASTER RELIEF"

I seem to recall that there were about 22 cities on that list. Possible connection here? Can we, in fact, decipher the targets?

2.- Today it has been reported that Wall Street is a target.

OK- Recall the Jakel image showing OBL, the nuke going off in NYC, Kaddafi's head on the body of a Bull?

I know we were speculating then about whether or not Kaddafi gave AQ nukes.

Now it makes sense. He did, and there are AQ plans to obliterate Wall Street.

3) OK- going back to those Jakel images once again---I can't stress this enough---the picture where there is OBL, a nuke in the city, and the WAKE OF A DEPARTING BOAT. (NY Harbor)

WE NEED TO BE CHECKING THE FERRIES and any other ships that would cause a wake as depicted in the image.

AQ is very obsessive compulsive- every detail counts.

We can reveal that the United States and Europe are at immediate risk from Conventional, Nuclear, Biological or Chemical attack within the six weeks. It is no longer a question of "if" but is a question of the attack date. Sources can confirm missing nuclear material from the Middle East, which may have been obtained by an unnamed terrorist organization presumed to be Al-Qaeda. Warnings have been issued to US & UK Government departments concerning the theft of nuclear material. We cannot confirm the rumor that this material may even have been sold to Al-Qaeda by Iranians. However, it is highly likely.
