Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

VIDEOTAPE of an American hostage being decapitated was shown on the Internet today, three days after US authorities announced the search for Paul Johnson Jr's body was ending without recovery of his remains.

Still photographs of Mr Johnson's beheading had been posted on June 19 on some of the same militant Islamic forums that were providing links to the newly released video footage.

The 49-year-old engineer for US defence contractor Lockheed Martin was kidnapped on June 12.

The video, which ran for almost two minutes and included footage of tanks and destroyed homes, apparently in Iraq, carried the title "The Voice of Jihad: Get the infidels out of the Arabian Peninsula."

Voice of Jihad is the name of a periodical issued on the Internet twice monthly by the al-Qaeda cell in Saudi Arabia, which claimed Mr Johnson's killing.

The tape shows a man, with his head wrapped in a red and white checkered headscarf so his face is not visible, carrying out the killing. (snip)

Iran 'breaks up' al-Qaeda network

IRAN'S intelligence minister today said all branches of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network in the country had been dismantled.

"The intelligence ministry has identified and dismantled all the Iranian branches of the al-Qaeda movement," Ali Yunessi was quoted as saying on state television.

"We have stopped the terrorist acts of al-Qaeda. If we had not done so, we would have had security problems."

The minister gave no further details.

FBI warns: Al-Qaida could try to recruit non-Muslims

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The FBI's weekly alert bulletin, sent to 18,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide, focused this week on the possibility of al Qaeda recruiting non-Arabs to carry out attacks in the United States.

"Finding operatives with U.S. [citizenship or legal residency] status would greatly facilitate al Qaeda's ability to carry out an attack within the United States," the bulletin said.

The Department of Homeland Security first mentioned the possibility of such recruitment in December, when it raised the terror alert level from yellow to orange, saying there was intelligence that terrorists could be planning to use chemical, nuclear, biological or radiological weapons.

The new warning comes amid what the administration says is a continuous stream of intelligence indicating that al-Qaeda is determined to strike the United States in the summer or fall.

Wouldn't you think the Iranian claim of breaking up al Qaeda is just posturing after the breaking news about the Iran/al Qaeda involvement? I find it a bit peculiar that Iran would even make such a claim, unless they're trying to cover themselves after being exposed. Gee, how could there possibly be any al Qaeda activity in Iran? Haven't they denied it in the past?

It might be worth while to run the above search with 4 or 44 or 444.

After some of the searches that I have done this week, you can take the google bar and fill it with one letter or number over and over and it will pull things, felt like a fool with the first one that I found, then ran them and know that the more foolish it looks, the better the return.
