The old Family Feud with Richard Dawson that was on GSN had the question "Name a famous 'Mel'" Must have been just before The Road Warrior came out in 1982, because Mel Gibson wasn't even suggested.

Yaye Mel!
The Cross controversy is just so stupid. How much would it cost the taxpayers to remove it from all the Seals? GGGGRRRrrrrrrrrr- This whole thing is pure Communism. To hell with he ACLU. They have to be stopped. They keep bullying/harassing Christians.
Thanks for the help Mel.

We can always sneak you in through the Northern Frontier. (Canada)
They don't seem to have a clue these days on what's going on. (The govt. that is... not the people.)

ACLU in lala land, huh? Well, well. This may give him the chance to stick it back to the hysterics and bigots who went after "The Passion"--
The ACLU depends a great deal on extortion. A defendant will always be out the ruination of his defence, but a victorious plaintiff gets to collect "reasonable and customary" fees from the defendant.
In other words, the ACLU doesn't work for free. They just want you to think they do.
So they have huge leverage just going into the courtroom, a built-in advantage over whoever they're suing.
This system has been set up courtesy of your friendly neighborhood lawyers like Breck Girl and his lovely wife, Elizabutt.

My favorite line from one of our idiot LA County dem supes was: "I have to vote against the cross on the seal because I SWORE AN OATH TO GOD that I would uphold the Constitution."

If you're talking about the film Gallipoli, I think the British were made to look worse that the record would show. The general who ordered the attack despite the preparations failing, was actually an Aussie.

Good quote. The irony never occurred to him that you can swear to God and then move to whitewash Him out of our public life. That's an instance of what Orwell called doublethink, the ability to hold two contradictory beliefs at once and act on them as though there was no contradiction between them whatsoever.

I like that Mel... (what's up Doc?) God rest his soul.
Today is the anniversary of when we lost him.
The sad lithograph always comes to mind, called "Speechless."
