The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.
Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.
"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

To: Guenevere

Wow. That is more than a little interesting. Can't you just see him batting those baby blues filled with tears? How low can you go, Edwards?

I would love to see these ladies debate.

My number came up 1A in 1969. I did my 8yrs service. Questioning a person's service, or a person's lack of service due to a high lottery # is a lose-lose situation. Unless, of course, that person is clintoon who despised the military but later was elected to CinC. That truly is a disgrace!

Edwards was born June 10, 1953; his number was 178.

I think it's time for kerry to get a manicure. I wonder what airport he will delay.

"The name calling about looks and fat are not about the ugliness that you just described. They are juvenile. period"Some are, some aren't. I don't recall anyone getting on a moral high horse at any time Kerry's been mercilessly bashed for his appearance. In fact, who's been defending John Edwards when he's called the "Breck Girl"? I do recall a few who said the Hillary "thigh" jokes were beneath us. So, it's ok to make fun of a man's looks, but making fun of a woman's beneath us? I can't help but wonder about this double standard.

Edwards was born on June 10, 1953. That put him in the Vietnam draft lottery of Feb. 2, 1972, when Edwards was a sophomore at North Carolina State University. (Like a great many college students, he opposed the war.) The lottery ranked individuals according to their birth date; Edwards drew 178, which was reasonably "good," i.e., high, reducing the likelihood he would be called up. (The highest number called during the previous year had been 95.) In any event, Edwards' lottery number didn't even matter, because nobody in the 1972 lottery was ever called up. The war was winding down and draft resistance had become an enormous headache for the Pentagon. In 1973, it scotched the draft altogether and instituted the All Volunteer Army. Unimpeded by any Vietnam-related moral or legal dilemmas, Edwards graduated from North Carolina State in the spring of 1974 and enrolled at the University of North Carolina Law School in the fall.

re: While she's not as overweight as she appears at first glance)))
She actually looks better in profile, because you notice the curves. In this pic, you don't see the light blue/grey Tshirt which flatters the voluptuous swell of her middriff. Not fat--but Rafaellian!

"...has lived her life enjoying the *fat* settlements milked out of insurance companies, raising everyone's premiums and putting insurance out of the reach of many Americans...and Elizabeth was buttering up the crowd...Elizabeth has provided the ballast to a turbulent trip...she's 'solid' and 'steady'... supplying a much-needed counterpoint to the youth and attractiveness of her husband..."Now THAT is good...and almost cost me a keyboard!

Questioning a person's service, or a person's lack of service due to a high lottery # is a lose-lose situation. But John Kerry did just that; he smeared those in the National Guard and those who chose not to enlist.

Clinton is a lot of things... bad.. but he is a man.. Put Billy Boy in a contest with Edwards for 10 females and William the conquerer will get 9 of them. Edwards would only get the 10th one because she was tired of waiting her turn with Bill. (Bill would take them in pretty order.. and pretty more often than not pretty)Wrong, on so many levels - number one being that Clinton is not a man. Clinton is a bony-fingered, pasty-thighed freak that genuinely sensuous women would want absolutely no part of.
