A Seattle Photography Student has twice been detained and harassed by Seattle Police and Homeland Security agents for photographing the Ballard Locks in Seattle as part of an assignment for his photography class.
Good, we are at war. The agents acted appropriately.
We cannot be too careful, there are a lot of fishey looking Salmon going through the locks every day.
Perhaps because the student was using a professional-type camera, but the tourists were using Polaroids.
We need to get on with winning it. People will endure restrictions for a purpose and as long as they see a serious effort to defeat the enemy they will put up with it. But nearly half the country thinks there is no war on at all and is not eager to bring matters to a conclusion which will result in the worst of worlds: sacrifice wihtout apparent purpose and indefinite restriction with no light at the end of the passage.

I was taking a photography class and we had to take a pictures of a row of something at different f-stops to show the changing depth of field. I chose a row of lampposts at a federal building. When I was done {and I was shooting low to the ground, with the building in the backgrond], a guard came out and said that some DEA guys, working on the weekend, wanted to know what I was doing.
I told the guard what I was doing, and I was very polite. I offered to show my ID, but he was apparently satisfied by my explanation. To tell the truth, I was a bit dismayed that he backed off so easily. If I had been him, I would have taken my name and address, at minimum. And had I been me, which I was, I would have given it with no argument
Salmon, as we all know, IS lox
Well, Flash, you sound like a good, upstanding patriotic citizen.
In other words, you sound like most of us.
Thanks for your post.
This is another case of local police and Homeland Security people acting like Keystone Cops.
These are the same idiots that require a 90-year-old grandmother to submit to a body search at airport security.
It's all for show. Pathetic.
Good.
LOL....
