KURTZ: Christopher Hitchens, you write that the movie is "a piece of crap," "a sinister exercise" and "a big lie." I get the impression that you didn't like it.
CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS, VANITY FAIR: Actually, I didn't say the first thing. It's not my style. But if pressed, I probably would have wanted to say that.
KURTZ: Why do you dislike the movie so much?
HITCHENS: I made also some of the points that Michael has just made about the -- Moore must have known that Richard Clarke could say this. Maybe he did say it, and Moore didn't think it was useful, because it wouldn't work to say that Richard Clarke had authorized the flights.
So that's one small lie, but there's a bigger lie that it's helping to propagate. He says that the whole of American foreign policy is determined by the Saudi Arabian royal family. Now, the Bush administration has been to war with two of Saudi Arabia's friends. The Taliban, who they helped to impose in Afghanistan, and the government of Saddam Hussein, which they regarded as their buffer state against the Shia.
The actual history is exactly the opposite of what Moore's paranoid suggestions are. He openly says that he believes that the other side of this war, the Islamic jihad, torturers, saboteurs, beheaders and fanatics and murderers are the equivalent to the American Minutemen. So welcome to his contribution to the 4th of July celebration. The man is openly on the other side in this war, and the film shows it in every frame.
KURTZ: Speaking of the other side...
HITCHENS: What the Democrats are doing with such a person is beyond me. Beyond me.

Calling for the victory of those your country is at war with, as Moore has done, is pretty much the definition of unpatriotic...
Bill Press, who repeatedly compares Moore to Limbaugh, is a real POS ... can't these Lefties come up with any new cant on their own?
Begala is as stupid as he is ugly.
I hadn't heard that. It's an odd thing, every time Bill Press comes on the TV, the channel changes! LOL
That should be a feature on the newer models ...!
Hitchens is so dead on here. Too bad his comments are marred by the bullsh*t from Press and Begala. Moore is patriotic? Begala is the biggest a**hole there is.
I wish Hitchens would have just called him a traitor instead of saying he was working for "the other side".
Since I'm a conservative I could not use my new found investigative talents to look into people like Bush and Rumsfield. So I took a look at the death of John Heinz. Here are the facts:
1) John Heinz was killed in an airplane crash. John Kerry is a pilot.
2) A year before the death of John Heinz John Kerry and Teresa Heinz met in South America a year before Heinz died.
3) Within a short period of time after John Heinz's death Teresa Heinz and Kerry married.
I've taken these facts and using Micheal Moore's 100% proven methods I can conclude that in 1990 Teresa Heinz and John Kerry met, fell in love, and then plotted to kill John Heinz. Since he was a pilot Kerry easily sabotaged the Heinz plane and it crashed. After a short wait Heinz and Kerry married. The plan from the beginning was for Kerry to use the Heinz fortune to run for president.
This is just the beginning. Using the Michael Moore methods I'm working on a story that involves McCain, Kerry, Vietnam and gay love at the Hanoi Hilton. All the pieces are there and I'm putting them together. I'm going to make a film called Faren-butt 9/11. If I can't use that name for copyright reasons I'm considering "The Rearhunter".
See you at Cannes.....
Nick
Makes ya think.
"The Forehead" is one of many leftists who define patriotism broadly enough to cover Michel Moore's activities, including his disgraceful America-bashing before foreign audiences (who, by the way, eat it up, relishing vindication of their warped views by a "real American").
Ketchup with a chaser. :)
For Moore, a chaser = a Sloppy Joe!
Based on your theories, I think it is appropriate to re-open the investigation into the Senator Wellstone deaths.
A. Another Airplane - Kerry a pilot
B. Kennedy declined to fly with Wellstone - Kennedy, Mentor of Kerry
C. Wellstone was thinking of running for President, the Memorial proves he was loved by every creature on earth - he was in Kerry's way.
Kewl, this is easy.
Hey! That happens on my TV, too! It's a conspiracy, I tell ya. A conspiracy. [Grin...]
