Greg Summers (aka Sultan88) paased away this morning in a Petersburg, Virginia hospital. He's been sick for some time, but this news came as a total shock to me.
Greg was a kind, gentle man, who had a passion for all things that make America great...I am honored to consider him a good FRiend and he will be greatly missed by myself and all those who got to know his wisdom and sense of humor on FR.com. This is simply devastating news!!
My prayers go out to his family, including his son who we've come to know as 'yankhater" around here.

Oh, Sultan88, how you will be missed!
He has always encouraged FReepers and took us neophytes under his wing, welcoming us and making us feel at home at Free Republic.
Greg was the kindest gentleman. When I was going through months of illness and misdiagnosis of a kidney ailment he sent me information and weblinks that helped me get through a difficult time.
And that sweet, gentle humor....
When he opens his eyes in Glory I am confident he will hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant, well done."

Heaven seems selfish when our loved ones, friends and family leave us for this place.
Sultan88 blessed each of us here in a personal way unique to each, and now it is time those in Heaven are blessed with this gentle soul as well.

Your Dad was in the Freeper Baseball league with me. He made me smile when he went on about how one of the A's pitchers was the worst in baseball. He will be missed...
