The mind boggles. This is what half of our country has become?

Liberals are out of touch with mainstream America. Its hard to imagine any reasonable person being against homeschooling and casual sex. There are even liberals who homeschool their kids and have wholesome family values. So why would the liberal special interest groups be against Claude Allen's confirmation? Because he doesn't guarantee he'll rule in their favor. Liberals can't persuade the public of the rightness of their agenda so they turn to the courts to impose it for them. Its an agenda so extreme the public rejects it. No wonder they don't want Allen on the federal bench.

Claude Allen is a good man -- bright, moral, other-serving, conservative, caring, brave, and so on. I had Easter dinner with him a few years ago at a friend's house (he and I did dishes together afterwards), and I found him to be a top-notch honest man, just saturated with integrity.

He's a member of a church that's a "sister" church to mine (affiliated with http://www.SovereignGrace.com ); if you want to better understand his religious philosophy, go to that site and find the sections on doctrine and "what we believe."

Maybe these organizations don't like him because he's ... black?

A Black House Tom is even more offensive in the eyes of liberals. Leaving the Plantation is the worst crime imaginable.

Now I remember him! He was a press secretary for Jesse Helms during one of Helms' reelection campaigns if I remember correctly. I met him back when he was just in his 20s over at the Congressional Club when Tom Ellis and Carter Wrenn ran the Helms political machinery. He seemed like a very sharp fella and very modest too. Those two traits are always a rare and welcome combination.

Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35
January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

...

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

...

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

...

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

...

The sex positive agenda (promotion being sexually active at every age) abhors the concept of abstinence; they say it is unhealthy to supress a desire to have sex.
