Judge found dead mouse in beer

A US judge is seeking compensation after finding the body of a dead mouse in a bottle of beer.

Judge Randy Anglen says he screamed and screamed when he saw the mouse - after finishing the bottle.

Anglen, a judge in Hollister, Missouri, drank the bottle of Miller Lite at home one night after finishing work, reports the News-Leader.

He drained the last bit into the sink, so he could put the bottle in his recycling bin, but heard a 'plop' as he put the bottle on his worktop.

When he peered into it, the first thing he saw was a long tail coiling around the inside of the bottle. Then he saw the rest of the mouse.

"The first thing I did was scream in horror. Then I screamed in revulsion. Then I dropped to the ground, holding my head in my hands while I was still screaming," he said.

"My wife ran in, holding our one-year-old, and she started screaming and the baby was screaming because she didn't know what was wrong with me. It was five minutes before I could regain enough composure to say: "Don't worry. I'm OK.""

Judge Anglen says a Miller representative told him to pack the bottle in dry ice and mail it to them, so they could determine if it was a mouse: "The first thing I said was, 'I'm an attorney, and that's the evidence."

He wants Miller to offer him an appropriate compensation for his emotional trauma.

"I'll do whatever they want including taking a lie-detector test," he said. "They need to know that I've got other things to do besides hatching a scheme to defraud Miller by putting a mouse in my beer."

I once ate most of a Crunch chocolate bar. At the end of the bar, instead of popped rice, there were maggots.

I called the company and asked them what to do.

They said, "send it to us for examination."

I sent it to them.

Never heard back...

Not sure if it ever occured to me to sue. Anyway, I certainly "lost" the evidence.

Why don't you hop your rabbity ass down to San Fransisco and see if you can harvest a set of kiwis from one of the transvestite surgeons? Talk about your persnickety fags.

I can confirm "chocolate maggots infestation". It didn't happen to me but I saw someone returning a bag of Hershey Kisses to a Ben Franklin Five and Dime ahead of me in a checkout. And it looked to me like the maggots were live!

This would have to be circa 1980.

The other article linked in this thread has a more detailed description (and pictures of the judge).

He says that Miller wanted him to send them the bottle as well.

If the judge needs a lawyer for his phony lawsuit, the ambulance chaser on the right will be unemployed soon.

I don't buy it. WHat his financial situation? What kind of a judge is he, liberal?

I just googled "Judge Randy Anglen" and the only links that come up are copies of this story. Is this for real? Shouldn't the judge appear on some municipal site someplace?

So is he just a lawyer and NOT a judge?

Mine was about ~1987.

When I toured Hershey factory as a kid (in Penn.), I recall that they kept trays of bars both free and still in the mold, out in the open air to cool. It would be easy for flies to land on the cooling chocolate and lay eggs. A fix would be to shut the rooms out from open air, and pump in nitrogen (but hey, what do I know? ;-).

We went to a Denny's once, got a booth, looked up and saw rat silhouettes walking across the overhead lighting panels..

I hadn't given it much though but is it easy for flies to lay eggs in hot chocolate? Sure the eggs sink but at what temperature do they die?

My last "rat" experience was at some sort of a roadside shed "flea market". While looking through booths (with a limited attic) we heard scrapping sounds of some rodent crawling/running overhead).

Some hoped they were just squirrels.

I found an octopus in a bottle of Budweiser once, but it was 30 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico. My guess is this judge will soon be facing product tampering charges, as well as filing a false police report. By the way most of the low carb {bile} beers are undrinkable to start with.
