QUOTE OF THE DAY: A minority of senators apparently don't want judges who strictly interpret and apply the law. Evidently, they want activist judges who will rewrite the law from the bench. I disagree. Legislation should come from the legislative branch, not from the judiciary.

Thanks for the pics of our President in NC!! Love it that he came to the absentee senator's state and gave that succinct answer to the lib reporter's question. His FIVE words said it all! BTW Congressman Richard Burr is running for the Senate and will be getting my vote.

Anybody remember the name of the lady last Fall who was obsessing about Gebhardt becoming President and I bet her $25 or 50 donation to Free Republic that he wouldn't?

With the Kerry-Edwards ticket now, I think she should pony up and make that donation to the FReepathon!!

RALEIGH, N.C. -- President George W. Bush made an unscheduled stop Wednesday on his way back to the airport after attending a fundraiser in Raleigh.
A lemonade stand and two little girls brought the motorcade to a halt.
It was a perfect photo opportunity for Bush -- stopping to buy lemonade on a sizzling summer afternoon and giving two young entrepreneurs a day they never will forget...
