Marijuana Advocates Forget to File for Ballot
LAS VEGAS (AP) - An initiative to legalize pot in Nevada might go up in smoke after organizers forgot to file 6,000 petition signatures by a June 15 deadline.
Clark County (search) Registrar Larry Lomax said Billy Rogers, president of the political consulting firm seeking to qualify the petition, is pleading for him to accept the 6,000 names.
"Unfortunately, the state law says they have to turn it all in by June 15," Lomax said.

They were set up. The opposition deliberately planted Cheetos, Ho-hos, Stoned Wheat Thins (wonder where THAT name came from), and cans of Pringles between headquarters (wonder where THAT name came from) and the courthouse. Dirty politics, I'm heretatellya.

Before George Carlin went all swear words (I'm no shrinking violet but he went from a rationale to swear - 7 words - to using it as his number one adjetive/adverb) he had one great line that fits this situation perfectly: "You know the reason why pot hasn't been legalized? No one can remember where they left the petitions."
Actually, they probably used the signed petitions as rolling papers.
