Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) announces she is voting against the nomination of J. Leon Holmes to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas: In her remarks on the floor of the U.S. Senate, which are continuing as I type this, she also condemned Second Circuit Judge Guido Calabresi for his recent remarks about President Bush. It will be her first vote against any of President Bush's judicial nominees.

A lot of them aren't here as of yet..... they will drift in during the vote and sometimes afterwards.... Once they get through this first round of names then he will begin to repeat their responses...

Bah. They just called on her. She voted No.

Specter will probably vote nay... he voted to get Holmes out of the Committee without a recommendation, if I remember correctly.

Did you tell her you were from Texas?
Before I call I always think of a town in their state in case I'm asked.

I think it's useless to lie to the Senators about your state bc they have caller ID.

For me it was easy since I'm actually one of her constituents. Heh.

Kay Hutchison will have her senate seat as long as she wants it. True enough, with your total approval, I'm sure!

I sure did tell them where I was calling from. I live in Schertz, a small town on the outskirts of San Antonio and I was also sure to tell them that I DO vote!

"At the center of opponents' case against Mr. Holmes is an article he and his wife co-authored for a church publication about the "historic Catholic teaching regarding the relation between male and female."
In it, Mr. Holmes and his wife wrote that "the wife is to subordinate herself to the husband" and that "the woman is to place herself under the authority of the man." "
Is this why she's voting against him? If so, she is scripturally-challenged and has no understanding of the real meaning of Paul's teachings.
I was really disgusted by her when she adopted those children given her age. She's joined the ranks of those who think babies are like pets to be acquired based on whim.

Yes, it is. You aren't pro life if you don't believe it is.
In Nazi Germany the people worried more about the economy and the war than they did about the genocide. I'm suggesting that we don't repeat their mistakes.
