It's Gephardt
Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.
UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

You are %100 correct, I could have not said that better myself.
there is no chemistry between Kerry and Edwards
"I thought it was Al Gore who claimed he was sung to sleep with "Look for the Union Label," though it turned out the song wasn't written till he was in his twenties or something like that...."
He was. He was 31 at the time and just as big a baby then as now. He's only spent a couple years of his life, in his early forties, without diapers, but he's back in 'em now.
Actually another poster recently had statistics from the Iowa caucuses that showed Dickie didn't even win the union vote in neighboring Iowa.
If he picks Gephard, Kerry should lend him a pair of eyebrows for the campaign.
Hmm..where's Wes Clark? Joe Wilson? Socks the Cat?
I agree - the phoney "for the sake of party unity" lineup behind kerry.... the media will lap it up.
Nader will not run, his only function was to get a few rights to lean left, he will drop out and endorse Kerry in hopes his followers will do the same.
Correctimundo. It's even ''worse'' than that for l'il Dickie, speaking as a 20-year resident of the 3rd District. Ol' Eyebrows didn't run for another term because he is now very, very beatable in the 3rd, probably wouldn't even be the favourite if the 'Pubbies would back a decent canidate (for instance, Kathy Enz, who got w/in 7% last time with NO, zero party support). The North Carolina residence, his real home, has caught up with him BIGtime, and the lower half of his carefully gerrymandered district has seen a significant demographic shift.
IMPOSSIBLE....I have been chosen as the VP!!!!
Makes sense. If he had gotten the union vote in IA then he wouldn't have come in (near) last and dropped out after the first caucus.
Regards, Ivan
I guess this can only mean Hillary runs in 2008. Bush wins this one hands down. Hillary's people must have figured it out.
BUSH WINS! AGAIN!
Campaign slogan -
Vote for da French poodle or Scarface da union guy will visit you.
Maybe so but do you think Kerry knows this?
Update II: "A Democratic official who has talked with Kerry told CNN the candidate has indeed made a decision and would announce it shortly."

Good. Geppy has about as much charisma in front of the camera as Dan Quayle. Not that I think Quayle is a bad guy. I would have voted for him. But his "fiery speeches" just don't cut it. I've always thought Geppy looks like he would have been right at home sitting in a cabinet meeting......at the Soviet Politburo. Cold, empty eyes, a real weasel.
Gephardt's district is going to elect another Dem, and comfortably. His district was redrawn to take it out of the mix, to the extent it was, which it wasn't. That is NOT why Gephardt retired. He retired, because he gave up the minority leader position, and ex speakers/minority leaders don't hang around.
It was the rat plan all along.
