It's Gephardt

Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.

UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

You are probably right about Graham - I don't think it will be any of the three (Gephart, Edwards or Vilsak) though -

Gov of Va - would be my dark-horse.

Whats the word on Russ Carnahan running in the 3rd District? I'd bet that there is still some of that sympathy vote out there that the democrats can exploit.

That governor, Lawton Chiles, who beat Jeb, is dead. Thus he is unlikely to be selected.

Not so fast. This should help the Dems secure a critical part of their base, the dead voter. And, Kerry won't have to worry about being upstaged by on the ticket by someone more animated than he is.

"Indeed, he is more qualified than Kerry."

Name three people LESS qualified than Kerry!

Maybe, but did you know that John F. Kerry served in Vietnam?

Dick Mullholland of California

No way. He adds nothing to the ticket since the democrats already have the mentally ill vote sown up.

Gephardt is a safe choice, it's true, but he isn't the DU choice because he's a loser, he doesn't please minorities and he has a long inside-Washington record. Gephardt would lead Kerry to a respectible loss.

Vilsack will probably deliver a flattered Iowa, but since he comes from hick-land, he'll be portrayed as a golly-gee populist.

The bottom line is that Kerry has to (1) win almost all of the Gore states and either win (2a) Florida [unlikely] (2b) Ohio or (2c) both NV and NH. Ohio is the big target. In that case, I suppose Gephardt will be the obvious choice, but his union support is overrated and the union guys who always vote Democrat will continue to do so but I don't see any union-type sympathizers jumping ship just because of Dick Gephardt.

So, we will be seeing him on the Dem voter rolls, then?

Question is, what did Gephart demand of Kerry for all the votes he'll bring to the ticket? Yeah, right . . . BWAHAHAhahahahaha!

Did you know that Mulholland served in Vietnam?

By the way, I did a spell check, and the alternative word for "Mulholland" was "malevolent." If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. Maybe JimRob has cooked the spell check function or something.

LOL! Thats the exact sign Im talking about! Thats the only glaring one, but I see a lot of stickers around. I read somewhere, probably here, that MO has picked the pres more times than they have not, or something like that. I hope its true. Lurking on our pilots forum, I have seen some disturbing comments. ALPA has enedorsed Qerry, and a lot of our pilots are crowing..

How is this suppose to help Kerry? Pro-union Dick Gephardt couldn't even win the union vote in neighboring Iowa in January. His campaign never went further than that.

Would you want this man one step away from the presidency?

I'm Dick Cheney and I approved this message.
