The President flew from Camp David, using the Hagerstown, MD airport, to Charleston, WV, but not before he and accompanying staff and Cabinet members had to change jets. AF1 had a faulty engine and another jet had to be flown from Andrews AFB for the President and his entourage to use.
The President missed a Church service that he had planned on attending in WV, but said that he didn't miss it because of the sermon but because of a faulty engine and necessary jet change.
He spoke to an enthusiastic crowd in Charleston, where applause interrupted his speech after just about every sentence. In the pictures, notice the number of American flags - it seemed that everyone had one.
Thanks for the early dose Truthy, and the Cheney pictures are great. I'll check back in later.
You and me both. The "Mayor of the US" hasn't been in many pictures lately - at least that I've been able to find.
How's the job hunting going, ilovew? Find a position yet?
Now, off to work for me.
I'll look for more pictures when I get home.
Bye for a while.
Truthy
Hey, hooray for the early Dose. I missed all of the president's appearances yesterday, so I thank you for your service today. VP looks in great form in Altoona.
**The "Mayor of the US" hasn't been in many pictures lately - at least that I've been able to find.**
I know! I've so missed seeing him. It brightens my day every time I get to remember how strong Rudy was during those horrific days. I do hope he runs for another office.
The job hunting is going absolutely nowhere and I only have a little over a month before I go back to school. At this point, I may need to wait until I go to school before I get a job.
Does anyone know HOW many people W and Cheney attract on the campaign trail? Is he still packing them in at the rallies? I wonder how many show up for Lurch? Just curious...:)
¡Viva Bush/Cheney! Two absolutely incredible men!
Hi TNT!
Thanks for the pictures! I heard Pres. Bush speak yesterday and as usual he was great. Looked like a VERY hot day.
I also enjoy the pics. of the Cheney's--got home late last night but happened to catch his speech on CSPAN. He and Lynne had their granddaughter along and looked like they were all having a great time. Dick sure speaks out against Lurch more than the Pres. does! Everyone yelled and cheered throughout the speech.
Are you new to the Dose? If so, welcome!
Checked out your profile page and sounds like you're a busy mom. How old are your kids?
***President Bush: isn't it interesting how everyone who is repsonsible for protecting us -- firemen, policemen, the military, etc. -- all adore him? They know. They understand.***
Just as importantly, HE knows what they do, and HE understands their importance to our country.
I noticed Kerry DID have a flag this weekend. But he wans't waving it or anything, it was tucked into his SHIRT (not the pocket, between the buttons of his shirt) somehow strange so it wasn't even all showing.
Thanks for all these wonderful pictures of Vice President Cheney.
I wish President Bush would retire that blue shirt. He always is so handsome, but that shirt isn't the best for him IMO.
Absolutely!
Thank you for the ping and the Dose!
May I respectfully disagree? I love that blue shirt. It looks good on him and stands out in the pictures. Doesn't look washed out like a paler color would.
I have to agree--I LOVE the blue shirt! Especially when he doesn't wear a jacket or tie. I WOULD like to see him in stripes or a different color once in awhile . . .
A friend told me Laura will be on The Tonight Show (Leno) tonight.
Hello Gretchen!
How was your weekend?
I'll have to check out Leno--some of his jokes were so painfully UNfunny at that dinner that I don't regularly watch him. But if Laura is on, you know I will.
I'm trying to get our new digital camera hooked up and installed--wish me luck!!! It's Tim's b-day gift (but we'll all use it) and it will be the best part if I have it all ready to go for him tomorrow. Yes, he shares a b-day with the Pres.
Love the Kerry jokes on your profile page! Do you have any more?
I've been doing a lot of studying about the American Revolution in the last year so this Independence Day celebration was a lot more meaningful to me. Unfortunately, I didn't feel well enough to attend a fireworks / civic celebration on the Fourth ... sigh ... but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I've concluded we simply cannot grasp what our freedom has cost us in the price of the blood of our forebears, and all the suffering and sacrifices they made for it through the generations since 1776. So I just appreciate it by reflecting as well as I can on history's accounts. =)
Happy for you all to have a digital camera!
She's on the schedule but I can't tell if it will be a repeat or not.
