Might as well bar the media from everything having to do with this court .... they seem bound and determined to give the enemy intelligence.

I grudgingly have to admit, that the only reporter who has paid the rules any ind, has been the War Slut Herself, Amanpour; she actually kept herself outside the courtroom - well, armed guards helped...

The Iraqi Government should charge this idiot Fiske with plotting with the terrorists to undermine the trial and threaten the judge. Give him his day in court and then his years in an Iraqi prison with his Syrian, Iranian and other assorted nutball terrorists.

As far as I know there is no guarantee of freedom of the press in Iraq right now. Time for this guy to be muzzled.

I posted the following the day Saddam was in court and the camera showed the judge's side profile. [See my comment just below the screencap.]
FOX News reports Hussein in Iraq Court now. (Live thread)
al-Jazeera shows a nice side view of the judge.
[The judge was supposed to remain in anonymity; al-Jazeera probably just signed this judge's death warrant by showing the side view of his face.]

Hell, in his (Fisk's) own country, the defendant's right to a fair trial takes precedence over freedom of the press. Normally all the press can say in GB is something like "Mr. Hussein stands accused of crimes against humanity."

The Independent
Editor defends decision to name judge
By Andrew Grice, Political Editor
03 July 2004
The Independent was criticised by Downing Street yesterday for naming the judge in charge of Saddam Hussein's initial court hearing.
The Prime Minister's official spokeswoman said that the judge could face reprisals after Ra'id Juhi was identified.
But Simon Kelner, The Independent's editor-in-chief, said: "The judge was prepared to have his voice and that of Saddam Hussein heard on the tape, despite the false claims by US and British officers that he wished to have no sound broadcast." The judge was instantly recognised by many Iraqis and his name was reported across the Arab world, including in the Arabic language newspaper Al-shark Al Awsat, published in London. "We feel readers of Western newspapers should have the same information as Arab readers," he said.

[Concluding paragraph to previous post from The Independent:]
Mr Kelner added: "Of course we would not wish to endanger the judge in any way, but US military censors cleared the tape for broadcast showing a side view of the judge in which he was recognised as a former judge in Saddam Hussein's regime."

It seems pretty plain that Fisk is on the side of the terrorists. Add his name to the List, Ted Kennedy. Michael Moore and Fisk.

Unbelievable. And the leftist media wonders why they don't get tipoffs about things like Thansksgiving trips by the President or the transition of power in Iraq.

Actually, Fisk is a Mossad agent and the Israeli govenment wanted the identity of the judge. Fisk was not able to communicate with Tel Aviv (the lines are carefully monitored) so he used the communications channel he controls, the print media. He did exactly what his Israeli bosses required! BTW, this is a secure site, isn't it?
