Our troop support group finally found a way to send care packages to our troops in Afghanistan, and I've received a couple letters this week requesting goodies. We're pretty excited about finally making contact, and are inviting others who want to show support to join us.
If you can't afford to contribute money or goods, the troops also really appreciate letters, cards and notes, and request your prayers for their safety and peace of mind.
The first set of care packages and thank you cards and notes that we sent to Afghanistan for the Fourth of July were received with joy and you can read about them on the second half of our last thread, Write a Thank You Note to a Soldier in Iraq this Memorial Day Weekend
We've been collecting goodies and contributions toward the next set of care packages to go to Afghanistan. Our contact there will send them to the troops at the outlying fire bases, and has requested toiletries, movies, paperback books, snacks, and games for them.
Also, there are ongoing requests from a group of soldiers near Kirkuk in Iraq for items for the poor village schools and children in the surrounding area, specifically elementary school supplies and children's toys and crayons 24 to a box are a special project of theirs.
Bad company has already purchased NHL rivals 2004. Hold off on getting games till we see what else people are going to send.
Noted on the NHL game. Thanks for the ping.

November 13 is for parcel post. We always send priority for security reasons.
See arjay's note above about an Xbox being auctioned.
Yes, I noted that. But there was no date that I could find for priority parcels in the list. That's why I posted what I did.
Oh, and thanks for the ping on the Xbox auction. I'll check it out.

I just kept looking and wondering huh ????
Don't mind me ..

Let me know if you need more money for the Xbox or other Christmas wishes for the troops. I can send you something.

Thank you for the "Soldier's Angels" link (http://www.soldiersangels.com).
I just "adopted" a soldier and over the next week and a half I will collect items to be sent to Iraq for the holidays from the children in my class at church and their families.
Thank you for steering me to two very worthy causes. I really appreciate it.
Bump so I can get things together.
Keep me on the list too, I'll do more in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all you do for this cause. I'm a true believer and supporter.

Leave me on please...haven't been able to do much, but I am interested..hopefully things will change here soon.
Two of the guys from Weapons Sqd. pulling security from the back of their Stryker
Two of the guys, questioning an Iraqi lady about anti american graffiti that was found out on the street. It was taken in Nov.
"Strykers ready" was taken on 2 Nov in our Company assembly area outside of Fallujah just prior to the start of the Fallujah offensive.
And you'll notice that the thread is an old one. Posting here by mistake.
