CNN Headline News just said on bottom ticker that F/911 has broken the 40 million mark and experts are saying the movie will break 50 by Monday....YUCK...what the hell is wrong with people paying to see this crap? I thought times were so bad that nobody can afford to do anything? Huh? The Bush tax breaks hurt everyone...but yet Americans find a way to blow their cash on this pile of crap...amazing.

My only question is do ticket sales equal butts in the seats? Inquiring minds want to know....
I think we should repeal all tax cuts on those individuals who make movies since all of them seem to oppose tax cuts.
Have no fear. This July 4th weekend will bow to the domination of Spider-Man 2. Not Moore.
Funny Speibergs The Terminal made $46,503,000 and is considered a flop. Moores crap makes $39 mill and its a block buster.
I'm also hearing rumors that the DVD release for F911 is slated for early to mid October.
Keep in mind that's a rumor, but...
Irony...right? I love how all of the Hollywood elite claim that it is Republicans who are the party for the rich yet Kerry raised 3 million yesterday and is catching up to Bush in money. Hollywood is coming out left and right for Kerry raising millions and millions. Yet...Bush is the rich one...it's all about the oil.
Not a rumor...it is a FACT. It is going to DVD on October 12th! Moore is having the movie pulled from all theaters by the end of August for this very reason.
Good point. He has JUST NOW beaten "White Chicks." (I'm sure the only chicks he'll ever be on top of.)
Gosh, how surprising, a huge-budget effects-and-action filled summer thriller based on a popular comic-book character that's a sequel to a popular movie will make more money than a political documentary in its second weekend of release that cost 6 million to make.
I predicted this would happen last week (people gloating over Spiderman beating 911 in the box office)...I mean, isn't that sort of silly? Do you imagine Moore honestly thought he'd beat Spiderman 2 in the box office?
I wonder if we'd even hear about it if Soros bought $20mil of those tickets.
Not good but oh well. The movie is influencing some. A woman at my husband's work said that her teen-aged son saw the movie and now refuses to vote for Bush. He's 18. She tried to set him straight but he will have none of it. Sad. Though I figure it will backfire with the more intelligent crowd. People do not like being lied to, especially on their own dime. We will see. I still wonder why he can get away with this when the NRA can't put out a 30 second ad without major restrictions. Michael Moore just might buy the WH for Kerry. Such hypocrisy.
The Passion of the Christ...$400,000,000.00 and counting.
The GOP has a lame get out the vote with kids from 18-23. Almost non-exisistant....time for people to step up to the plate and get rid of the arrogance.
Spielberg actually invested money in his movie.
Eminem just lugged around a $200 videocamera and pirated stuff off the TV.
Moore therefore has a lot higher Return on Investment than Spielberg.
And since money is the only thing that matters to Liberals, that's the only thing that matters.
You can't compare the 2 movies...one is a documentary that is filled with lies...the other a movie on the life of Jesus Christ's last 12 hrs on Earth. Not even fair mentioning them in the same sentence.
Congratulations, I've never seen the word 'domination' used in the same sentence with 'July 4th.' :-)
So, what's magical about the $40M mark? Nothing. It's just hype.
F911 made $30M in the first weekend, then only $10M for the rest of the week. That means it's trending downward, i.e. it's blown its wad. It's over, dude. I'd be surprised to hear that it makes more than $5M over the entire 3-day holiday.
As far as being a successful film, yes it was. It cost $6M to produce and $10M to market, so Moore and his accomplices made money. That's why low-budget films with low box office takes are considered successful while big-budget films with much higher box office takes are considered flops. It's all in the profit.
Just think...this movie is gonna gross about 75 million domestically at this pace and will break 250 million globally. Then....THEN...we go to DVD and cable rights. Moore is gonna make 300+ million off this garbage.
