KERRY CHOSE ILLIGITIMACY FOR HIS OWN GIRLS (wife suicidal during Kerry divorce)
Crosswalk.com ^ | July 2, 2004 | Kevin McCullough-World Net Daily columnist

Posted on 07/02/2004 11:15:54 AM PDT by cnkie

John Kerry is a man full of contradiction.

In 1995, already divorced from his first wife Julia Thorne, John Kerry pressed for an annulment.

He didn't bother to tell Ms. Thorne. The church simply informed her by way of a letter that this was the case.

Ms. Thorne had been severely depressed and near suicide when Kerry walked out on her, and in pressing for an annulment he cast his daughters into the bizarre state of illigimacy. (one of them was still a teenager at the time)

Compare that with the Jack Ryan Illinois Senate case where both parents were arguing to keep the records sealed so that their 9 year old son could be spared the embarassment of unsubstantiated allegiations.

"Well, given that the premise of this piece is false (children of a religious annullment are NOT illegitimate, but are legitimate and continue to be), this could backfire big time on those who continue to spread this lie, and would help, not hinder Kerry--not to mention the anti-Catholic bias of this BS."

I see the "premise" as simply a metaphor of what is NOT needed for someone who asks to "lead" America; Kerry abandoned his family and wife in time of need, and then depended on someone else (the CC) to do his dirty work (like Teddy Kennedy).

I need not get a microscope and think this is actually an "anti-CC" hitpiece instead of exposing more of Kerry's abysmal track record of being a louse.

Anyone with a room temperature IQ knows that Kerry is an A-hole. Doesn't excuse McCullough for being lazy and stupid, like a democRAT. His rant just makes him another Howard Dean; WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

If you refuse to adopt the successful tactics of your enemy then you have surrendered. The Democrat is no different from the terrorist in that it will keep repeating its tactics until it fears retribution. If you take a weapon out of your arsenal, that weapon will become the Democrat's weapon of choice and they will keep using it until they begin to fear it.

Kerry selfishly made his children illegitimate in order to obtain a phoney annulment for his political ambitions.

He did not. An annulment does not make children illegitimate; that is a civil designation.

Right. I think that was cleared up by a zillion others already.

JMO This is a non story.

Most people don't care that someone has had a divorce and remarried. The fact that he did apply and recieve an annullment before remarriage shows that he does follow the Churches teachings.

This story needs to die and move onto real issues.

The Pope himself has spoken out recently against easy annulments.

It is scandalous, and is justifiably called "Catholic divoece."

Rich or poor, Catholics who seek annulments in order to marry again are usually those who have not worked very hard at their first marriages.

Check it out! Google "Pope, annulments"

I think Kerry's divorce is one of the factors that women will consider when they look at the total person. IMO, Kerry broke faith with his first family when he moved on. I don't care what the code of conduct is today. Kerry deserted his first family and moved on to "bigger and better things", to a richer wife, to a more luxurious lifestyle. He's a puke.

According to my beliefs, Kerry bastardized his children. I'm not a Catholic so I don't have to buy into the absurd notion that a marriage can be made to have never existed except for purposes of making a product of a marriage that never existed a legitimate product of a legitimate marriage that did exist.

This doesn't put us in the best light. Leave his personal family life alone.

That's the difference between Liberals and Conservatives. The Libs wouldn't hesitate to stir all this stuff up & go in for the kill.* Conservatives are just TOO NICE.

*Trent Lott, Rush Limbaugh, etc.

I may be in the minority here but I think these so-called personal factors are VERY relevant and appropriately discussed. How Kerry handled his divorce, annulment, and whatever was in-between, all these things speak to his character.

Not to say that they should be the focus of the campaign. Negative campaigning isn't the best kind, when your candidate is as good as George Bush. But people should be aware of these things about John Kerry.

How did you feel when he said "none of your business" about what foreign leaders endorsed him? and his taxes? and Teresa's taxes? and his medical records? and his military records?

Nothing unflattering to John Kerry is any of our business, is it? That's his position.

See my post #66. It's not about being nice and if I thought it would help keep Kerry out of the WH I'd be all for it...I just think it'll backfire on us. We don't need to manufacture any sympathy for the SOB.

Humor time:

This woman walks into the drugstore and tells the pharmacist she wants to
buy some arsenic. The pharmacist asks, "What do you want to do with it?"

The lady answers, "I want to kill my husband because he cheats on me with
another woman."

The pharmacist replies, "I can't sell you arsenic so you can kill your
husband, lady, even if he is cheating on you!"

So the lady reaches into her pocket and pulls out a picture of her husband
with the pharmacist's wife.

The pharmacist then says, "Oh, I didn't realize you had a prescription."

I am not really interested in Kerry's divorce papers or child support payments (which are probably more interesting than the divorce) but I would like to see the Chicago Sun Times pressed on the issue of why they won't fight for the release of the Kerry documents.

The Pope has rightly expressed concern about the abuse of the annulment process here in the US. A lot of it has come about because of the 'touchy feely' ideas that have permeated the Church in the last 30 years. I believe, with the newest crop of Bishops, we are going to see some changes in that regard.

There are some annulments that are deserved, and the Church recognizes this.

I say leave this whole divorce thing alone.

I agree, Hildy. I don't ever recall it being made an issue with our beloved Ron Reagan, for example.
