FBI urges vigilance for July 4
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

I do not know because I'm not familiar with the area.

This may not be what it first appears to be. Last summer during the peak of wild fires in S. Cal, the animal shelters were overwhelmed by the number of rescued animals brought to them. Having pets running around a disaster site of any kind is very disruptive. Getting an idea of the numbers and types could help in planning how much kibbles and bits to bring in after a disaster strikes. Thus I would look at it as a common sense measure.
Thanks. Now we have pre-translated versions. :)
in some sense,
I concur.
But, ExS, we
MUST BE
wise as serpents and harmless as doves on this matter.
Not only for Jim's sensibilities but for our own support to a point of the Constitution we defend. And, to avoid legal hassles.
We have no NEED
of identifying
SPECIFIC subgroups or even OVERTLY, identifiably, etc. targeting any . . . SPECIFICALLY identifiable group.
Of course, as individuals, we have
OUR OWN CRITERIA for
HOW
TO MINIMIZE generic blind effort in considering EVERYONE alive above a slug's mentality.
Of COURSE
we have to have
OUR OWN INDIVIDUAL reasons and means for reducing
every walking human potentially observable
down to
those
WHO BY THEIR BEHAVIORS [!!!ETC!!!]
may make out observations more . . .
efficient.
Please
let us not make trouble for ourselves, but for the terrorists!
. . . WISE AS SERPENTS, HARMLESS AS DOVES . . . we can do it.
And we can be wise in talking about it. People are bright enough to make good judgments about how to make their observations more efficient vs observing every walking critter above a slug's IQ.
Today is July 2nd, a date that some here feel that could be a potential target date for an attack. As has been so well expressed in previous posts, we need to be extra alert, especially in places where people congregate (Disney land, other tourist sites) as they could be targets of opportunity for an Palistanian-type car bomb attack.
PING about observing

I, for one, can't get the heck out of NYC fast enough today. In 5 minutes - I'm outta here! Busy weekend ahead. Everyone stay safe and celebrate Freedom this weekend.
A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND to you to FreeperFromNJ.
Thanks for the links you sent me in the last thread HipShot.
You are quite welcome. I've noticed that the original story on the german site was pulled.

Have we ever established any estimated range enhancement of the Kilos by Iran?
That bugs me a lot now. I remember that one of our leased yards in Philly was shared by a few trucking companies, but was privately run by ME types, IIRC.
Kilo class range is 7500 NM snorkeling at a constant speed of 7Kts.
