MORE DEM PROPAGANDA

Posted on 07/02/2004 9:26:55 AM PDT by Spackidagoosh

July 2, 2004 -- A SHOCKING image of a blood-spattered President Bush devouring a headless child is causing an uproar. The drawing by sculptor Richard Serra, based on a painting by Goya, is being used to promote pleasevote.com, billed as "a call to vote the Bush administration out of office." It appears on the back cover of The Nation's July 5 issue. Ironically, Serra, a past recipient of NEA grants, was once praised by First Lady Laura Bush in a White House press release about one of his pieces at a Texas museum. His "Tilted Arc" once graced (or defaced) Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan until it was destroyed in 1989. Pundit Andrew Sullivan labeled the Bush image "an obscenity" and "simple demonization."

Can you imagine the flak if Republicans used an ad like that?

Tilted Arc was a corroding wall of junky steel that divided a plaza which, until that monstrosity was intalled, had been a pleasant gathering place for people who worked nearby. After it was removed to make the plaza habitable again, Serra, represented on a pro bono basis by a leading NY law firm, filed suit to prevent the government from removing the piece.

Of course he lost, but his elitist view, that he knew better than the people who had to encounter his piece on a daily basis, is Democratic ideology in a nutshell. Ironic, isn't it, that the political party calling itself "Democratic" is the home of so many anti-democratic elitists?

Hey on the other hand, maybe this guy knows this is what Bush is going to do to Kerry come election day just from all the people who are getting sick and tired of the liberal cabal and their attacks against the US along side thier AL Qaida blood brothers.

Someone should PhotoShop in an image of Kerry. Then put them side by side to see what reaction they get.

The dems are going to completely "Kerrorize" this nation. Come November 2nd, it will be Bush in a major landslide.

It looks like an Ozzy Osbourne album cover!

What does that say about the mentality of these people?

There's nothing original about it because this was done with Sharon a while back. It's a "in-joke" with Leftists.

Unless I miss my guess, that is a PhotoShop piece. Looks like a mild watercolor filter over a photo of Bush and one of the Goya piece. He didn't even get Bush's head lined up properly on the monster's shoulders. No real draughtsman did that.

"Tilted Arc was a corroding wall of junky steel that divided a plaza...."

Hilarious. He pulled off the same thing here in St. Louis. It provided a convenient place for bums to pee. The smell was horrific. Anyone who called it ugly, which it was, was called a philistine who just didn't understand "art."
