Look Out For this Democrat Vote Fraud Trick on Election Day - and Have a Cop Make an Arrest
7/02/04

Posted on 07/02/2004 8:33:04 AM PDT by jmstein7

As we all know, for Democrats, the law is a mere annoyance… something that needs to be circumvented to achieve the desired Democrat ends.  This is particularly true on election day.

“Walking Around Money”

I’m sure that many of you have seen this – Democrats and/or Democrat affiliated groups near polling places giving people “walking round money” to vote on Election Day.  This is an illegal practice.  Note the following federal law:

18 USCS § 597 (2004)

§ 597.  Expenditures to influence voting

Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate; and

Whoever solicits, accepts, or receives any such expenditure in consideration of his vote or the withholding of his vote--

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

As you see, this is an illegal activity.  If you see this practice going on on Election Day, alert the authorities immediately – cops with probable cause to believe a person or persons is (are) violating this law have the authority to make an arrest on the spot.  Further, there will probably be vote fraud hotlines set up to report this kind of thing.

You can give cops the necessary probable cause to make an arrest by showing them a copy of the law or merely citing the statute (18 USCS 597), telling them that you personally observed the law being violated, and telling them, in detail, whom you saw violating the law.

The people offering the money and the people who receive/accept the money may both be arrested and charged.

Please tell anyone you know about this law, and please take action to be on the lookout for this on Election Day.  As we say in New York – “if you see something, SAY something!”

Yes, you are correct.

When speaking, I seldom have to be concerned otherwise.

I have found my mindset to be the same with "SHE LION".

Perhaps time will make my mindset the same with GITM, however I won't hold my breath....

If the poster was right about not counting absentees, it would make sense. You have an election and the election day votes give X for Bush and Y for Kerry. If there are fewer than |X-Y| votes, then they won't matter anyway. It makes sense to save money. It costs a lot to count those ballots statewide. This allows them to count absentees for races that count.

So, absentee ballots from registered disabled people are not counted. Is that what you are saying? I believe this is a form of discrimination.

I will await to hear from my Maine Representative. I pray you three are wrong. Because this would BE wrong!

P.S. If they did not count the absentee ballots, why would they even send them out? It costs a lot of money to make up these ballots and send them out. So what is the difference in the cost?

And what about registered bed-ridden voters? Are you saying that THEY cannot vote????

Read my post #82..........especially about registered bed-ridden voters. Do they mean to tell me that their vote does not COUNT? This does not ring true to me.........

Let us say that there are 100 absentee ballots cast in your district. But the election-day margin of victory for each race is 200 or more. They won't bother counting the absentee ballots. But if there is one race in which the margin of victory is 99 on election day, they will pull out the absentee ballots and count the votes for that race.

It could be that Maine opens the ballots all the time, even when it couldn't possibly matter.

Do you understand that we are only talking about the case where the margin of victory is larger than the total number of absentee ballots?

Fine.. Don't vote. Just don't complain when nobody listens to you. I can't believe there are still people who think a politicain will 1) Help them and 2) Give a rat's patootie. These people lie for a living. It's their stock in trade. It's what they do as reflexively as you kick your leg when the doc hits it with a hammer.

SheLion, no matter how close you think your Representative is, he/she isn't going to lift one finger to get your ballot counted if you won't even try and get to the polls to vote. A non-voter is a non-person.

You don't like what I say, and prefer the advice of a feel-good person? OK. Your call. See you in December. I will not bring you a hankie.

Ok! This is for the newbie, Ghost in the Machine..........(which must need new battery's)

She sits there, wanting a representative (hah!) to come to her rescue, when all she has to do is go maybe, what, 5 blocks, and VOTE. Cripes, I feel so Michael Mooreish.

Can you not READ?  Did I not say that I am semi-disabled and not able to stand for longer then 5 minutes at one time?

I have a generic lower back disease.  This prevents me from standing or walking for any distance.  Not that I have to expalin anything to you, but I refuse to take your verbal abuse any longer.

5 blocks?????  It is 12 miles to town from where I live.  Oh yes, I have a handicap plate.  Does that compute?

And yes!  I WILL take the word over my Representative over you!  And I WILL let you know what they tell me.

Your a Free Republic newbie.  You better learn how to treat people in here.  So far, your not very nice.  Freepers don't take well to nasty people.

Maybe your a DU plant.  We discussed this in here last night...............how the Rats are signing up to trash us.

Your an idiot.  How old are you?  14?

I am NOT asking my Rep to HELP me.  I am asking them if it's true what you told me, that my absentee ballot will not count.

I CAN'T GET TO THE POLLS YOU NINCOMPOOP!

No, you did not. None of that. Not to me.

Call me a "Newbie" if it makes you feel better about being a non-voter, and utterly dependent and trusting of a politician. May God help you.

I'm done with him. He isn't a true Freeper. And everyone in here can see through him. I'm not wasting my time with this one anymore.

I wish the Mods would check him out.

I don't mean to argue with you because you say you are semi-disabled. BTW, so am I. But I will not use an absentee vote for the reasons I expressed to you above.

In every precinct there has to be a way to get a wheelchair person to the balloting booth. I've done it many times. I'm a registered Republican so a registered Democrat has to be with me in such cases.

You might get a kick or not about this, but one time in CA on voting day, the supervisors of my district failed to notify the HOA to unlock the gates to the polls. I had all the goodies, i.e., the votes and everything that goes along with that.

I went back home, got my Radio Flyer wagon, parked near the hill that was locked. Packed everything in the Radio Flyer. It was full to the top. Early voters helped me get down that hill. My three people who were supposed to help me were on time, but too late to get the stuff down the hill. And they had to walk down the hill which was about a half mile. I set partially up, swore in three voters to help me until my people got there. My people got there 15 minutes late. I then released the other sworn officials. Then swore in the regular ones.

BTW, the polling place was opened on time because I cared. The sheriffs came over and broke the heavy metal gate that kept the voters out.

The HOA had to pay for that gate.
