Appeasers Keep Raging as Minnesota Twins Stick With G.I. Joe

Sorry, loony left: The Minnesota Twins say they won't give G.I. Joe the boot.

Despite pressure from several anti-choice appeasement groups in the P.C.-crazed Minneapolis area, the team will present the action figure to 5,000 lucky children at the game Monday with the Kansas City Royals.

"We are absolutely going forward with the promotion," said Patrick Klinger, the team's vice president of marketing.

"It really is intended to pay tribute to the soldiers, those infantry people who are serving the country here and abroad. We wanted to pay tribute to the real G.I. Joes and G.I. Janes serving the country," he said.

The team has included this salute on the toy's packaging: "The Minnesota Twins salute these courageous men and women, past and present, who put their lives on the line to defend our country and assist us in times of need."

Mary Beaudoin, a leader of something that dubs itself Women Against Military Madness, raged to the St. Paul Pioneer Press: "This is hideous … a bad message to send kids. Kids need to be raised with the values of life, not killing."

Col. Denny Shields, a spokesman for the Minnesota National Guard, said, "We're sorry that a small number of Minnesotans are offended by the doll and don't see it as the tribute that it really is."

They'd probably endorse a Paul Wellstone bobblehead doll.

So glad to see they're not backing down. Every team should give away a GI Joe.

I sent off an e-mail to this W.A.M.M. group. Wonder if they will reply to it. Here's what I asked them: "I'm writing in response to a quote by Mary Beaudoin in which she said, " "This is hideous … a bad message to send kids. Kids need to be raised with the values of life, not killing." I just have one question. Regarding the need to raise kids with "values of life, not killing," does this include, in your view, raising them to value the life of the unborn as well, or is abortion an acceptable form of killing? Awaiting your reply. David XXXXX

Yea, but not the pro-choice I believe in, I mean how many choices to these folks believe in, first you choose to have sexual intercourse, then you choose to not use any kind of birth control, then you choose to abort what you chose to ignore in the first two choices, it never ends, and they don't get it. Declaring yourself pro-choice is premafacia evidence of the ignorance exhibited in the original declaration.

Lot of buzz-words in that mission statement. Two that got my attention, solidarity, and global oppression, Now why would Hasbro and the twins bow down to these folks by emasculating GI JOE?

Toymaker Hasbro removed the gun from the action figure,

...and furthermore what knowledgable woman would align herself with an organization that included the above mentioned buzz-words and others like them in their mission statement.

Maybe I just answered my question.
