Who says Saddam's bribes to the french & germans didn't buy him any information?

And not just the French and Germans, I'll wager....

I sincerely hope not.

I am quite sure not, unless some people are freelancing.

I will never get over the revelation - about ten years ago - that a secretary (as in typist, not Minister) who worked in the UK around nuclear secrets (I think) fed information to the USSR for years "because it wasn't fair that the playing field wasn't level." When I read about her the news article was about how she was living a quiet life in a suburb at the age of 84 (or so.)

I wanted to know why she wasn't in jail!

It was government policy at the highest levels. It certainly was not freelance operatives moonlighting. I'm concerned because it has been documented that France passed on direct intelligence to the Iraqi regime while the UN was still deliberating the recent crises. They're not to be trusted and I don't just mean chIraq. France is not an ally of the US.

Sometimes, the interrogator would try to catch Saddam out by questioning him for hours, and then leaving him alone for a period of time before returning to ask just one more question.

"In one session Saddam told how his son Uday had beaten to death someone who had annoyed him by playing music too loudly."

Saddam said he had Uday imprisoned in solitary confinement as punishment."

Chemical Ali to Saddam: "Wow...Saddam...if you keep sparing the rod....you'll spoil those boys...."

I knew it WAS government policy in the 80s. I just hoped that it stopped when the Soviet Union ended.

Timmerman seems to say that we have given France access to everything about our nuclear weapons program! Unbelievable! Wanting to keep them "within the tent." Wow!

I hope that it did as well, but I'm not all that confidant.

:-(

While having a celebration in honor of himself, the US should have sent a few cruise missles for a really big surprise and we could have left our troops at home and Halliburton could have sought work elsewhere.

Hey fellas. That was just a TV show. It doesn'r really work. Inject the fool

For Saddam I think a nest of angry red ants planted near his honey dipped butt might persuade him to render up some info
