"WASHINGTON (AFP) - Several members of the House of Representatives have requested the United Nations (news - web sites) to send observers to monitor the November 2 US presidential election to avoid a contentious vote like in 2000, when the outcome was decided by Florida.
Recalling the long, drawn out process in the southern state, nine lawmakers, including four blacks and one Hispanic, sent a letter Thursday to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (news - web sites) asking that the international body "ensure free and fair elections in America," according to a statement issued by Florida representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, who spearheaded the effort..."

These people will stop at nothing. I suppose they have specific polling sites already picked out. What to do?

So we're a banana republic now?
The Democrats will destroy our credibility before the world, before they abandon their plan to steal the next election. If they bring in UN observors as if this was a third world country, then they should send them to Philly, Chicago and the Indian Reservations.
Your tagline answered that questioned.
You are as nutty, dishonest, and opportunist as Eddie Bernice Johnson, using the flimsiest excuses to post tangential whacko propaganda. Your posting history betrays you.
I will say this. If anyone wanted to hand me $3 million and told me to get 5,000 extra votes in Milwaukee...I could do it. I'd head over into Michigan, and get up some busloads of folks to get registered months prior...make sure they were all homeless folks of course...because you don't want real street addresses for them. And I'd bring them back on election day to caste their votes. Each person would get $100 in grocery money, and another $100 in casino chips.
In Arizona, I knew of a number of retirees who had their real residence back in Jersey...but they spent the winters in AZ. So they had voting registration fixed up in Jersey and voted absentee. It wouldn't be that hard to get registered in AZ as well with part-residence, pretending to be there all-year-round.
I suppose the author as saying "Both groups vote predominantly Democratic in US elections." means we are looking a RINO's and Democrats.
"Bush calls out National Guard to get UN to MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS AND STAY OUT OF OURS!"
That's an absolute lie.
They want selective enforcement of fraudulent standards of citizenship. This is a very dangerous precedent toward allowing illegals to vote.
This is beyond belief...
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent miscellaneous ping list.
Beyond belief ping!
All this proves is that the CBC is climbing the seniority ranks of the Dem caucus in the House..the inmates are running the asylum..
Observers from Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela are urgently needed..
Hang it all, what was that thought that just flitted through what's left of my mind....????
Oh, yeah! France and, by extension, the UN, refuse to send aid to Afghanistan to keep terrorists from gunning down women as they register to vote. That's because it's more important to go to the U.S. and make sure Dummies aren't disenfranchised?
Gimme a flippin' break...

THE OPTIMIST -- Kofi Annan's U.N. has never been more important and more imperilled.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A comprehensive study of the 2000 presidential election in Florida suggests that if the U.S. Supreme Court had allowed a statewide vote recount to proceed, Republican candidate George W. Bush would still have been elected president.
The National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago conducted the six-month study for a consortium of eight news media companies, including CNN.
