A pervert who broke into two Long Island homes and sexually assaulted sleeping women was busted after one victim identified him as a carpenter who had worked on her home, cops said yesterday.
Police believe the suspect, Antonio Escobar, 31, is an illegal alien who has been getting day-labor jobs with construction crews.
One of the victims managed to fight him off, the other, whose 5-month old baby was in the room, was raped, cops said.

You're right to be alarmed.
A large percentage of illegal border crossers (who by definition are beginning life in America as criminals) have no qualms about breaking American laws while they're here.
The old argument about the deterrent value of Capital Punishment; i.e., at least this one killer/rapist won't kill/rape again, applies as well to stopping criminal illegal aliens from entering the U.S.
Some FReepers like to paint all of us on this side of the argument with the same brush. You can no more do that than say that all illegals are murderers...nor do we.
OTOH, if we were to force all aliens to enter at authorized checkpoints only and conduct even cursory criminal background checks, then we would stop literally hundreds of murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, burglaries each year.
Why is that such a hard concept to understand?

Funny that you mention auto accidents. That EXACT scenario just happened to a co-worker. Uninsured and unlicensed illegal who didn't speak English, just Spanish, ran into his house with her car! Lots of damage, and the deductible on his homeowners insurance is $1,000. So, right off the bat he's out $1,000, has to deal with the hassle of repairs, and his premiums will go up. And the illegal? Nothing happens to her, and she and her zillion kids continue to get free medical care, free food, free education, etc.

Of course they are not --- but why do we have to allow all of Mexico's equivalents of them an easy entry into the USA? Why not carefully background check all foreigners coming into this country --- at least make sure their intentions are good.
I wonder if the open-borders types like this one believe in open borders with Haiti --- let every last Haitian who wishes to move to the USA do so, deport no Haitian, or do they believe ever person from Red China who would prefer to live in the USA has a right to just come on over --- how ever many billions there are --- or is this actually a La Raza racist who thinks immigration policies should be enforced for all races except the mighty La Raza race?
