..."Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

Hillary's head is as fat as her ankles. What a fat-butt witch!
Sounds like she's hedging the bet she and ol' Bill have got down, doesn't she?
I think she wants to keep her options open -- if it looks like Bush is going to weaken before the Democratic Convention, I think she wants the Veep nod this year, maybe, instead of betting everything on a Bush win to keep the door open for her presidential run in 2008.
The Veepship is a better springboard for the Presidency than the Senate, anyway -- you'd have to go back to the 1920's or beyond to find anyone who won the Presidency while running as a senator.
Plus, she'd be "a heartbeat away" -- which ought to make John Kerry very nervous!!!
There she goes again with the tired old rag about how only the rich got tax cuts. The ones who can afford $10K to hear Hillary! speak.
I have been calling them socialists for a couple of years now. The funny thing is that most of the moderate dems (Zell types) have always scoffed at me as exaggerating. Well, they just got sent to this thread and the look on their faces is priceless.
It's nice to be proven right!
bumping for later....hehe....what a moron that Clinton B!tch is......
Hey pig...I make right around the national median household income, and the president's tax cuts helped me out tremendously, so go stuff your ignorant, condescending, socialist clap-trap in your pie-hole and do what the vice president told Leahy to go do!!!
take things away from you = Theft
"How about people who hate the War on Terror, Republicans, the President, and tax cuts, yet want to keep their own money. I swear I know people like this."
They are called lawyers. Seriously I worked for a lawyer just like that, but he also wanted to increase social programs and believed that most American's were not capable of doing the right thing for themselves, yet he and his ilk were able to think for all of us.
I cannot believe she actually came right out and said it. It takes a village to tax to raise a lib
According to Marx, under socialism you have a dictatorship of the proletariat which is a government organized for the defense of survival "rights." Also, distribution goes by the principle "from each according to his/her ability, to each according to his/her work."
Under communism, according to Marx, the government disappears and there is economic cooperation as well. The principle of distribution becomes "from each according to his/her ability, to each according to his/her need."
She sounds more Communist than Socialist. (For the greater good.)
you're right, the phrase for the 'common good' does smack of communism. Remember Animal Farm?
So which pig is Hilary?
The workers will just 'work harder,' to make up the difference, right?
So we can have mass education yet deny its best to the people and grade its success according to rubrics that do not make sense??
So we can control our borders yet deny opportunity to immigrants who just might improve our country?
Se we can control our people and give them what is best for them?
WHO IS DECIDING WHAT IS BEST?
You are absolutely right on, but then again, we've all known this...
RB
Well, we already knew she was after our weapons. Now she wants our money. Not much left after that, is there?
"HOLY SMOKES....I never thought a Democrat, even a Clinton, would reveal their true colors out loud."
Actually, another Clinton, Bill Clinton, said: "I'd love to give you a tax break but you might not spend it in the right way."
Bill Clinton said that, I think, in Chicago in 96 while running against Bob Dole. I know he said it, I'm just not sure of where and when.
...NOT ONCE!"
Isn't that the Communist creed?
"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
Governor McGreevey is saying the same thing here in New Jersey with the millionaire tax.
This is scary but I don't expect the Pubbies to use it.
