The Empty Cradle Will Rock

More than 40 million legal abortions have been performed and documented in the 30 years since the U.S. Supreme Court declared abortion legal. The debate remains focused on the legality and morality of abortion. What's largely ignored is a factual analysis of the political consequences of 40 million abortions. Consider:

• There were 12,274,368 in the Voting Age Population of 205,815,000 missing from the 2000 presidential election, because of abortions from 1973-82.

• In this year's election, there will be 18,336,576 in the Voting Age Population missing because of abortions between 1972 and 1986.

• In the 2008 election, 24,408,960 in the Voting Age Population will be missing because of abortions between 1973-90.

These numbers will not change. They are based on individual choices made--aggregated nationally--as long as 30 years ago. Look inside these numbers at where the political impact is felt most. Do Democrats realize that millions of Missing Voters--due to the abortion policies they advocate--gave George W. Bush the margin of victory in 2000?

The number of abortions accumulate in size and political impact as the years roll along. Like an avalanche that picks up speed, mass, and power as it thunders down a mountain, the number of Missing Voters from abortion changes the landscape of politics. The absence of the missing voters may not be noticed, but that doesn't mean its political impact disappears. As seen during a famine, what no longer exists becomes as relevant as what does.

no doubt there will be many replies referring to the Democrats wishing for continued illegal immigration to fill the missing (aborted) ranks with "the poor" so they can rob Americans (not the rich) to pay for the poor masses.

As I said in the other post,

The Democrats don't need to breed voters.

They import them from foreign nations and recruit them in the tax-funded, union-run government schools.

PS no wonder the Dems are so pro voting fraud - even Michael Moore is a registered voter in two states. Check out the Smoking Gun.

doesn't quite work that way. women have babies they wouldn't have had if they hadn't aborted an earlier one. people would be more careful about sex and contraception if abortion wasn't an easy backup. so there wouldn't be 40 million more people but it is true that those 40 million unique individuals are goen forever.

There is another important factor - people who are conservative and religious tend to have more children even if you discount the abortion. Darwinian selection at work!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

(Ps 1)

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
(Mt:5:5)

DSS snatching of kids and homo adoption will never compensate for the God established ways of nature.

Still even state brainwashed children remember that their parents did not abort them.

Also, having children makes you more conservative, so it is silly to assume that if these babies had not been aborted their parents would not have become more conservative.

Also, having had an abortion, or supported the decision of a partner who had one, must make you LESS likely to become conservative, because you have a strong incentive not to reexamine your attitudes to abortion, independently of whether or not you have later children.

Also, the article assumes that children are 100% certain to share their parents' political orientation.

The effect may be real, but these factors all render the numbers in the article bogus. Misplaced precision. Math abuse.

Are you familiar with another article about this subject -- Abortion - The Neutron Bomb for the Democratic Party? It counts aborted voters on the basis of racial voting habits and proves the point very concretely. It states that every aborted voter would have grown up to have children - so the inter-generational effects are even greater. We're not just aborting one person, we also aborting all of their heirs - their lineage.
