Why doesn't Afflek give it back if he feels that way? What a bunch of losers -- they take the tax cuts and then complain they shouldn't have happened. No one I know held a gun to his head to force him to take the tax cut!

Affleck said he wasn't sure his efforts would sway any votes, but he believes the entertainment industry can help spark interest in the election. "Really, the celebrities are the ones who have something to lose…. We like people from both sides of the aisle to come see our movies and concerts," he said. Still, he called Hollywood's heightened political interest "a healthy thing" and said it should not be discouraged.

When going to your movies and concerts mean you turn around and spend your mega billions to endorse your political point of view at my expense... hell will freeze over before I see your movies or go to your concerts. You "celebrities" better hope against hope that my sentiments aren't contagious. Meanwhile, I am hoping and praying we the people black ball you over paid big mouths.

Speaking of truth, Bush's SAT score was 1206, not 911.

Have you noticed that when libs want to slam Bush they point to his SAT scores.....but when they want to water down college admissions the SATs are dismissed because, after all, there are 'other ways of measuring intelligence that are better indicators of a person's future success'.

I'm sure y'all have noticed that.

Maybe alot these John Kerry supporters from Hollywood are overpaid. How many times do I hear these idiots refusing to do a movie unless they get "X" amount of dollars first....then they have the nerve to complain when they get a nice tax refund. Go friggen figure.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure that anyone who is intent on going to see a Ben Affleck flick-a very minute segment of the population, I'll grant you-isn't going to be dissuaded by the hue and cry of conservative activists.

The notion that you believe Ben Affleck is a good actor, much like the contention that "Ichii the Killer" is a cinematic masterpiece, is something that cannot be dislodged from a person's mind through either subtle or overt intellectual appeals.

The person who likes Affleck's work simply has no aesthetic judgment, and there's not much that you can do to change his or her mind.

Let 'em go ahead and have their laughs. We'll laugh on the night of November 2. By the way has anyone noticed that all of these performers are old has-beens?

By the way, have you noticed that Alec Baldwin has been relegated to having to be on Hollywood Squares? Whatever happened to him leaving the country if Bush got elected in 2000? Haven't heard too much out of him since November of 2000.

Hardly news--these are the same crowd that supported "Sweating" Al and Slick Willie. Though I am loathe to think of it, I wonder how these people would react if Kerry were elected? I would bet they would be the first to move their millions offshore to avoid the high taxes and leave the US when the economy tanked. I can't imagine too many of us would be going to see their movies when we have no disposable income and are out of work.

Actually, I thought Aflleck did a good job writing, Goodwill Hunting. The real point is, I use to love to go to the movies and concerts. I use to buy tapes, etc. Forget it. Maybe I am not all the fans, but I am one noisy one. And obviously Aflleck is somewhat concerned. Doesn't matter to me, I have made up my mind. Those rich and famous blabber mouths need to have something to worry about, and I plan on doing my part.

Yeah, I agree with your "Good Will Hunting" remark. Though, I don't know whether it was Affleck or his girlfriend, Matt Damon, who did the majority of rewrites on that script.

Personally, I prefer foreign films: Almoldovar, Nair, Panahi, Kaigai, etc., to the insipid fare being offered by Hollywood.

GWB SATs

566 Verbal...550 was 92%ile for boys

640 Math would extrapolate to 93%ile boys

I did the extrapolation myself...from the Class of '63 booklet (GWB was 1964, so it must be close). It's a good thing I saved this, and it's amazing how often it comes up.

How many of these hollywood types even went to college, much less Yale and Harvard. GWB has an MBA from Harvard Business school.

FYI, Jamie Foxx was in a recent movie called "Shade" about card sharks, also starring Sylvester Stallone.

You are not alone! I bet LOTS of people in the US are doing the same.

My husband and I have changed our movie-going habits of late due to politics. Whereas before, for example, if it sounded like a good movie and starred Harrison Ford or Ed Harris, we'd have gone to the movie theatre in a hearbeat to see it. Now, we wait for the video. On the other hand, if it stars (for example) Kurt Russell, or Bruce Willis, or Clint Eastwood, for sure we will make an extra effort to see it at the movie theatre. Outspoken conservative actors/directors will get our dollars. (Okay, Kurt Russell is a Libertarian but so is Walter Williams, and besides KR had his pic taken with Newt Gingrich, in Hollywood no less! That's a guy with some real cojones.).

On the other hand, outspoken Liberals will NOT get our dollars at the box office, no matter how much we want to see the flick. We'll wait for video.

There is a profound difference between conservative and liberal Hollywood types. Liberal Hollywood types actively try to get the general public to join their political bandwagon. When's the last time a conservative celebrity tried to use his/her celebrity to recruit political followers?

Wasn't a perfect score in the 1960's a 1400? If that's the case then GWB's scores are roughly equal to about a 1378 today. That would get him into just about any Ivy League school even without a congressional reference from his father.

Does anyone have Kerry's SAT's. Did Kerry even graduate from High School?

Just wondering - where did you find out it was 1206? I certainly wouldn't know and haven't seen it discussed. Even if it were 911, that's a darned good score for back in, what, the 60's? They raise the top score every few years and fyi, did it again this year.
