The President continued his visit in Ireland on Saturday with an EU summit. Saturday night, the First Couple flew to Ankara, Turkey, where they were received by the heads of state and Church.
Sunday, June 27th, the President reviewed the Turkey troops, laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Turkey's founder Kemal Ataturk in Ankara. He attended a formal photo shoot of the NATO Summit attendees, and then a welcoming dinner at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The NATO meetings will be held on Monday and Tuesday.
In a surprise sequence of events, L. Paul Bremer signed over full sovereignty to Iraq's interim government two days ahead of schedule in surprise ceremony; Saddam to be indicted this week.
I didn't know she was having problems BEFORE he divorced her. And a deadbeat dad? What a scum. And what a scumette if Teresa didn't help with child support.
I hope they can open the divorce papers. Maybe the Catholic church will come out and decide if the divorce and subsequent remarriage were even valid!
When will the Pres. and Laura return home? It can't be soon enough for me. I don't like it when they're gone, esp. in hostile countries.
Absolutely!
They are scheduled to come home on Wednesday. I believe Laura will be back at the White House om Wednesday, but not Dubya:-)
Looking at all the pictures from the last few days, I notice that when Bush is in the picture EVERYBODY is smiling.
What makes people think he's alienated all those people?
(And as an aside, I can't find ANY pictures of Chirac with anybody else smiling.......LOL)
Checking in to see the picture of Bush and Blair getting the note and shaking hands.
Thank you for a wonderful offering of pictures & I always appreciate the extra work of the captions. I often don't know who most of the players are.
Good work Ma'am!
It is so great to see that note!
God bless President Bush!
This is the follow-up picture to Bush and Blair shaking hands; I remember it because I thought they looked like two mischievous schoolboys!
OMG......I am NEVER gonna get any sleep this week!
"This day also marks a proud moral achievement for members of our coalition. We pledged to end a dangerous regime, to free the oppressed, and to restore sovereignty. We have kept our word." President George W Bush
THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH FOR YOUR MORAL CLARITY AND COURAGE!! BY DOING THE RIGHT VS POPULAR THING, YOU BOTH PROTECTED OUR COUNTRY AND FREED OVER 25 MILLION IRAQIS -- history will remember you kindly!!!! [And thank you PM Tony Blair for standing with our president and country when we needed you most!]
[The handshake between these two great leaders and the President's annotation of Condi's note will be forever enshrined in the nation's collective memory and historical record -- and we were here to witness it all!!!!]
...history will be kind to George W. Bush.....
Hi Mike. I agree. I think history will report that he was(and will continue to be for the next 4 yrs) a truly great President. I think he has vision and he has the courage to do what he believes is right ...even if it's unpopular. He is a remarkable man and we are blessed to have him as our leader.
**The words, "Let Freedom Reign" look like the President's handwriting. Did he write it on the note before passing it along.??**
Yes, it was on another thread this morning.
Both W and Laura look wonderful!
Re post 47-In the pic where PM Blair is shaking hands with W, after the news conference, I think Blair's face actually reflects his admiration for our President.
Nothing scares the liberals here and abroad more...... then when a U.S. President calls evil by its name. Right now the Liberals are scared sh*tless over GWB :-)
The left in this world are very predictable
