The President continued his visit in Ireland on Saturday with an EU summit. Saturday night, the First Couple flew to Ankara, Turkey, where they were received by the heads of state and Church.

Sunday, June 27th, the President reviewed the Turkey troops, laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Turkey's founder Kemal Ataturk in Ankara. He attended a formal photo shoot of the NATO Summit attendees, and then a welcoming dinner at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The NATO meetings will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

In a surprise sequence of events, L. Paul Bremer signed over full sovereignty to Iraq's interim government two days ahead of schedule in surprise ceremony; Saddam to be indicted this week.

So did you try to talk some sense into them? LOL! Some you can, some you can't. But glad you had fun.

This picture was probably from the photo shoot for the October 2003 LHJ cover. They are dressed with the same clothes from that cover. They are leaning against a column outside the Oval Office. Laura is leaning against him and he has his hand resting on her arm. If you have a copy of that issue, there is a picture of them on the contents page made in the same location in a slightly different pose.

Oh--that issue. I LOVE the pictures in that one! I think either LHJ or Good Housekeeping (maybe both?) have articles about them coming out this summer/fall. I get two copies of every issue they're one--one to read and one to save. :-)

Whoever finds out when the issues are coming out with the new articles needs to give a heads up to the gang.

I'm out to Bible study - will check in later.

I love seeing the President in his well worn ranchwear but Lordy, he looks good in formal wear, too. Berlusconi looks like he has the same mischievous streak as our President.

Truthy, great job, thank you. :) In an odd quirk of fate, although Chirac is present in a few pictures he is looking in the opposite direction from President Bush and the others. LOL Symbolic of why there are none with President Bush and Chirac together. LOL.

The black-tie apparel surely does a lot more for my eyes than the silk Chinese "Twister" Jackets of a few years back!

You're welcome. It was a LOT of work, but looking them over now, it was worth it - tohave that sequence of photos between Pres. Bush and Prime Minister Blair, congratulate each other over Iraqi sovereignty.

Yes, gram, I do love it. This President plays chess, not checkers. Another case of misunderestimated, and at the press' expense. Don'tcha just love it? Yeah, me too.

And RWM, you're welcome.

Poor Dubya is never gong to live down those brocaded jacket hehad to wear along with all the other guests, is he?

A friend of mine once said that if a man knew how long he looked in formal wear, he'd wear it all the time. Wink wink!!

That series of photos brought a tear to my eyes even though I was about to pop with happiness. Imagine how the photographer must feel to have captured the principles responsible for Iraq's freedom as they shared that historic moment and read that powerful note. I expect it was akin to those who witnessed our founding fathers sign the Declaration.

Another of the First Couple as they arrived at the gala state dinner at the NATO summit.

This is the promised evening ping, when I do an early Dose.

Come join the fun, y'all. Formal clothes in two sets of pictures of the First Couple!! Yeehaw!

Truthy, thanks for Ze Marathon Dose; great work! Beautiful work! Thanks especially for all the captions. Too many new faces to figure it out otherwise.

Ahern's got quite the Monster Grip on Mrs. Bush's hand!

I like the flags flying from the castle.

I like what the shadows did to Laura's suit

Calling it turquoise (it looks also to be aqua, in some pictures), I LOVE THIS DRESS and I think it's cute that Laura wore TURK-oise in TURKEY.

Awww!
