Report: Iraqis killed Italian for Israel ties
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
LONDON
An Iraqi terrorist who says he participated in the April murder of an Italian hostage has recalled how the captive asked for his blindfold to be removed so he could look his killers in the eye, a British newspaper reported Sunday.
"I filmed him as he was executed," the Arab fighter, who called himself Abu Yussuf was quoted as telling Sunday Times reporter Hala Jaber in an undisclosed location to the west of Baghdad.
Fabrizio Quattrocchi, along with three other Italian security guards, was captured by Abu Yussuf's cell in an apparent attempt to force the removal of Italian troops in Iraq, the newspaper said.
Described as a 27-year-old college graduate, Abu Yussuf refused to say whether he was a member of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network.
After assisting in the capture of the four men near Fallujah, Abu Yussuf, a fluent speaker of Italian, said he was asked to interrogate them.
"They said they worked for a company that provided security for individuals but from the papers we found on them and the information we collected from their laptops, we discovered that their work was more than simply bodyguard duty," the Sunday Times quoted him as saying. He claimed the men had "trained and worked with Israelis."
Quattrocchi was eventually separated from the other men and Abu Yussuf was ordered to transport him to another location, the Sunday Times reported. Abu Yussuf told the newspaper that he had asked for Quattrocchi be spared, but because the Italian was believed to have worked in Bosnia, Nigeria and had links with Israel, he was considered suspect.
While Abu Yussuf said he would condemn the torture of an innocent, such as the recent beheading of Korean translator Kim Sun-il, he defended the capture of Quattrocchi.
"The Italian was a security person who had committed acts against Muslims and who had links with Israelis," he said. "His case is different."
But Quattrocchi's sister Graziella denied he had ever traveled to Bosnia or Nigeria. "You could check his passport," she told the ANSA news agency. "It was the first time he'd been in a war zone. ... Fabrizio had only been overseas a couple of times, once to Brazil and once to some Spanish islands."
Film of Quattrocchi's murder reached the Qatar-based Arabic TV station al-Jazeera, which screened preparations for the murder but not the killing itself.
Of course not. The Italian man embarrassed his cowardly captors by his bravery. Since al Jazeera didn't want to make its Islamofascists buddies look bad, they couldn't show the man's bravery. Their claim that the murder was too gruesome to show is laughable; they certainly could have shown his brave statement to the human filth that killed him.
The Italian man was a hero and displayed uncommon bravery.
They also know that such an act will inspire, rather than deflate, the fairweather courage of a cowardly Europe.
"quoted as telling Sunday Times reporter Hala Jaber "
Did Hala Jaber inform authorities so that Abu could be arrested??
IMHO.

That Italian gentleman was a hell of a lot braver than the wimpering Korean. My hat goes off to the Italian.
Of course not. Accessory to murder, if you ask me.
yes that little moslem turd memorized some filthy verses from the koran and now has the audacity to take a helpless prisoner's life because "his case was different". Disgusting vile scum, worthless stinking garbage, filth.
Your comment is unfair, cruel, and ignorant. You have no idea what they coerced him into saying. And you have no idea what you would have done if you were in his same circumstance.
What kind of idiot are you? You can tell bravery by looking at videos?
"What kind of idiot are you? You can tell bravery by looking at videos?"
A guy begging for his life isn't exactly brave. Or have you redefined bravery now? What's worse is the guy claims to be a "Christian". While not a pleasant ending he doesn't need to fear death and beg to live on this earth.
"You know nothing about me nor situations I have been in."
correct. And you weren't with him and hadn't lived his life to experience what he went thru.
The fact that you see no problem calling that unfortunate soul names, speaks volumes.
Goodnight.
"While not a pleasant ending he doesn't need to fear death and beg to live on this earth."
I agree with you. Since he had to know that he would be killed, he might as well go out with his dignity intact.
Where is the terror in leaving this veil of tears?
Deu 27:25
Cursed [be] he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person.
Amen
I also have a hard time believing that al Jazeera has any such standards against broadcasting their Muslim brothers' brutality.
It's truly amazing that this kidnap/beheading schtuff is still going on when you check the box score: 2 Americans killed, no hostages released, no troop pullback; 1 Italian killed, no hostages released, no troop pullback; 1 South Korean released, ditto.
I noticed that the family of the Marine currently held did not make any noises about the necessity of the US to cooperate. Seems like the risk of beheading is accepted as a hazard of the business of being a soldier in a land with insane Islamicists.
The beheading wasn't as popular an act as they would have liked, so they invented a Zionist Conspiracy.
I meant, "1 South Korean kidnapped," not "1 South Korean released. Mea culpa.
