The Week in Review - Sunday NYT
[The week to come:]
FILM The Walt Disney Company took plenty of heat in the news media for its decision not to distribute Michael Moore's controversial documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," and they're likely to get more for "America's Heart and Soul," opening nationally on Friday. Certain to be tagged by critics as the documentary Disney wanted you to see, the film is an unabashedly patriotic assemblage of iconographic images - the Statue of Liberty, Monument Valley - broken up with thumbnail sketches of rugged individuals, including a Colorado cowboy and an Appalachian rug weaver, pursuing their American dreams.

Re your post #11 -- Incidentally, I noticed it has original music by JOHN MELLENCAMP. Makes me wonder about the slant of the movie, if there is one
BTW, you are incorrect about that - the music score is actuallyby "Joel McNeely" according to the official web site posted by ambrose.
There is also a note that John Mellancamp wrote one original song for this film. So, it's not quite a "Mellancamp" music score. More like a cameo guest song by him.

Heard about this film yesterday from someone who attended a premier showing -- SHE LOVED IT. Brought tears to her eyes, in loving her country and countrymen all across the fruited plains.
Thanks for sharing that! :)

The pal who shared with me -- is keenly patriotic, and votes Dem, supports (less and less) liberal ideology.

Yes I did. I hope this will overtake Moore's vision of America. But I doubt we'll even hear about it on the network news.

I think the best way to make our feelings known about Michael Moore's lies is by making this movie a hit.

This movie could easily become a hit because for one thing, it will not have an "R" rating - so the potential audience is far bigger. And, with a release coinciding with the July 4th weekend, it might just attract a large audience.

I hope they're advertising it heavily.
The tone of the NYT blurb you posted really sets my teeth on edge. So patronizing, so superior. I just want to do my part to stick it to them.

Well, Disney's playing both sides, eh? Still, this looks decent. I havent set foot in a theater in years though, so I doubt I'll see it.
